Location

This safari takes place in Kenya. You will visit Lake Nakuru National Park, Maasai Mara National Reserve, Mara River, Amboseli National Park, and Nairobi.

Kenya

Kenya is the country of wildlife documentaries and the home of the safari. It is everything you imagine Africa to be, with vast plains covered in thousands of wildebeest and gazelle, cheetah sitting on termite mounds, lions flat on their backs in the sun, and giraffe in the shade of acacia.

In the Great Migration, two million ungulates including wildebeest, zebra, and antelope species undertake a journey of roughly 1,600 kilometers. The herds reach the Maasai Mara in July and remain there until October when, following the rain, they start the slow march southwards back to the Serengeti Plains.

Lake Nakuru National Park

Renowned as an ornithologist's paradise, Nakuru is home to the alkaline lake of the same name which is most famous as the seasonal home of thousands of greater and lesser flamingos and more than 400 species of birds. The park has been declared a rhino sanctuary and is also home to leopard, Rothschild giraffe, hippo, and cormorant.

Maasai Mara National Reserve

It is situated on the border between Kenya and Tanzania and home to all of the big game: elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, and buffalo. You will also undoubtedly see zebra, wildebeest, Thomson's gazelle, eland, and Maasai giraffe.

Amboseli National Park

From here, spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro are a highlight. Among the wildlife, you might see are buffalo, gazelle, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, and baboons. Elephants are numerous, and you might even see the rare black rhino.
