You will stay in a luxury air-conditioned riverfront tent at Croc Valley Camp. The rooms are comfortable and some have a bathroom with shower, wall safe, kettle, and fridge. The campsite is well-catered for campers and overland trucks with parking areas, summer huts, power points, hot showers, and ablutions.
The "hippo friendly" swimming pool is perfect for sunbathing and cooling off. Hammocks are scattered around the camp for lazing around and watching the world go by. The bar and restaurant can be utilized at any time of the day and both offer perfect views of the river and the wildlife that uses it.
This safari tour will take you on daily morning and night game drives in Croc Valley Camp's open game vehicle. You will watch the antelopes, elephants, zebras, warthogs, lions, leopards, an abundance of beautiful birds, and the Thornicroft's giraffe, which is found nowhere else.
The game drives will be led by resident professional guides whose intimate knowledge will make for an unforgettable experience. The drives will be conducted in either Toyota Land Cruisers or, for larger groups, 20-seater vehicles designed once again to watch the carbon footprint in the park.
Your safari vacation will take place in the South Luangwa National Park. The park is a beautiful, untouched wildlife sanctuary of Africa. It is an extension to the Great East African Rift Valley. The Luangwa River rises from the dramatic Mafinga Mountains in the northeastern corner of Zambia and has many scenic ox-bows and lagoons, filled with hippos and crocodiles.
The rich volcanic soil supports a wide variety of lush vegetation and a wealth of animal and birdlife. Situated far from all the major cities, the Luangwa Valley is remote and has therefore been spared the masses of tourists in minibuses - this is a pristine, over 9,000 square kilometers stretch of lush riverine vegetation, plentiful game, and fantastic bird watching.
Your accommodation, Croc Valley Camp, is set on the banks of the picturesque Luangwa River. Set in a riverine forest, the camp is deliberately inconspicuous so as to retain the natural beauty of its surroundings. An abundance of wildlife such as elephants, monkeys, hippos and a wide variety of antelope often pass through the camp and can be seen most days from the safety of the shaded rondavels, the bar, and restaurant and the chalets.
You will be served daily meals which include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Throughout your stay, Croc Valley Camp's chefs can provide delicious meals and snacks from original recipes using fresh ingredients for your meticulously prepared meals. Special meals can also be arranged and the menu can be altered to suit your needs.
The Croc Valley Bar and Restaurant are open during the day and at night it is open till 09:30. You are welcome to order anytime from the restaurant's menu which offers anything from small snacks and sandwiches to full course meals. The fully stocked bar offers a wide variety of local and imported beers and spirits as well as cool drinks, mixers and a variety of bar snacks.
