Accommodation

During this safari holiday, you will be staying at multiple places. On day one, you will be staying at Amboseli Kibo Safari Camp and on day two, you will be staying at The Ark. On day three, you will be staying at Samburu Sopa Lodge and on day five you will be staying at Flamingo Hill Camp whereas on day six ans seven, you will be staying at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Campofrio Safaris Kenya Itinerary

This eight days luxury safari that will take you to Amboseli, Aberdares, Masai Mara, and Samburu. Amboseli is one of the best spots in the world to watch elephant with the backdrop of Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro. Writers have described Amboseli National Park as a "home for the Gods". The park also provides the best chance of spotting the elusive hyenas, lion, cheetah, Masai giraffe, eland, Coke's hartebeest, waterbuck, impala, and gazelle. The safari's route include one night at Nairobi, one night at Amboseli, one night at Aberdares, two nights at Samburu, and two nights at Masai Mara.

All the scheduled regular road safaris are guaranteed for a minimum of two persons. To accord each traveler a window seat, each minibus carries a maximum of seven passengers. Since the company policy is not to split couples, the maximum occupancy that is normally found during a safari is six passengers per vehicle.

For the regular road safaris, English-speaking driver/guide will be provided and is knowledgeable in the flora and fauna of the country. If advised upon booking on the language preference of your choice, Campofrio Safaris will endeavor, if and where possible, to allocate a driver and guide who can communicate in the preferred language.

At the hotels, lodges, or camps, Christmas and New Year supplements are generally applicable from 15th December, 2017 to 8th January 2018, inclusive. Easter Supplements are also generlly applicable from the 4th to the 7th of April, 2017, inclusive. It rates at 50 USD per person per night.

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport (NBO), you will be met by Campofrio Safaris airport representative for briefing. Then, you will embark on your dream safari adventure in Kenya. You will continue with the drive via Namanga to Amboseli National Park and arrive just in time for lunch at the respective lodge. Later, you will go out for a late afternoon game viewing drive. You will then have dinner and an overnight stay at Amboselli Kibo Safari Camp. The distance to Amboseli National Patk is 250 kilometers and will take around five-hour drive. Today's meal plan includes lunch and dinner.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park to Aberdares National Park

You will depart at Amboseli in the morning and drive through Nairobi where you will pick-up lunch boxes and proceed to Central province to the lower slopes of Mount Kenya. On arrival, you will check-in at Aberdare Country Club and transfer to The Ark by the hotel vehicle. You will check-in at The Ark for game viewing from the hotel deck. You will then have dinner and have an overnight stay at The Ark. The distance to Aberdares National Park is approximately 200 kilometers and will take around three-hour drive. Today's meal plan includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 3: Aberdare National Park to Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Aberdare Country Club where you will be met by the driver and depart north across the equator to Samburu National Reserve. You will be arriving at the lodge in time for lunch. Then, you will go out for an afternoon game drive. Afterwards, you will have dinner and stay overnight at Samburu Lodge. Samburu is the home of the desert nomads which is the Samburu tribe.

The afternoon game drive at the park’s reserve will take you to view the wildlife unique to this area of Kenya, the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, elephant, warthog, gerenuk, and, if you are lucky, you might be able to see the elusive leopard. You will then have dinner and stay overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge. The distance to Samburu National Reserve is approximately 350 kilometers and will take around seven-hour drive. Today's meal plan includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 4: Samburu

On this day, you will have a full day in Samburu with an early morning and late afternoon game drive. Samburu is a beautiful and game abundant park. It is also a home to rarely found species such as the Beisa Oryx, Grevy’s zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich, and reticulated giraffe. Optional activities include a visit to a local Samburu village, camel riding, and guided nature and bird tours. You will then have dinner and an overnight stay at Samburu Sopa Lodge. Today's meal plan includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 5: Samburu National Reserve to Lake Nakuru National Park

You will depart from Samburu Lodge in the morning and drive to the floor of the Rift Valley and to Lake Nakuru National Park. You will then make a brief stop at Nyahururu Thomson Falls. You will arrive at Flamingo Hill Tented Camp in time for lunch and then an afternoon game drive. Besides the flamingos, there are approximately 400 other species of birds visiting the lake.

Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild’s giraffe, black, and white rhino, water-buck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon, and many species of plains game. You will then have dinner and stay overnight at Flamingo Hill Camp. The distance to Lake Nakuru National Park is approximately 400 kilometers and takes around six hours of drive. Today's meal plan includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park to Masai Mara National Reserve

You will depart at Lake Nakuru after breakfast and drive further along the floor of the Rift Valley to Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch. Later on, you will go for an afternoon game drive. You will then have dinner and an overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge. If you come during the annual migration periods, you might be able to witness the the migration itself as Mara is home to almost 2.5 million herbivores together with smaller species.

Aside from that, there are also 1.4 million wildebeest, 550,000 gazelle, 200,000 zebra, 62,000 buffalo, 64,000 impala, 60,000 topi, 7,500 hartebeest, 7,100 giraffe, 3,000 eland, and 4,000 elephant. There are also plenty of hippo, rhino, and warthog. In addition, there are also predators animal such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, wild dog, and small mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and insects. It is truly the greatest collection of animals in the world. You will have two days to explore this fabulous reserve starting with an en-route game drive to the lodge. Today's meal plan includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 7: Masai Mara

Spend the day in Masai Mara, Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five which are lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant. Game drives are flexible, with the option of going out with picnic lunch boxes to spend the entire day in the park, or you can even choose to have an early morning and late afternoon game drive.

You will also have the option of visiting a local Masai village with an additional price of 30 USD per person. You will then have dinner and an overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge. Today's meal plan includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 8: Masai Mara National Reserve to Nairobi and departure

After breakfast at the lodge, you will embark on your return journey to Nairobi. You will arrive early in the afternoon and be dropped off at Nairobi. However, use of room is not included in price. You will then transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) for scheduled International departure flight. You will usually arrive three hours prior to flight departure time. Today's meal plan includes breakfast.
