During this safari holiday, you will stay at multiple lodges, camps, and hotels. On day one, you will be staying at La Maison Royale, Nairobi. On day two, you will be staying at The Ark Hotel at Aberdares. On day three, you will be staying at Flamingo Hill Camp and on day four and five, you will be staying at Mara Leisure Lodge.
This regular and luxury safari takes you through Kenya, the central fertile part of the Aberdare National Park which is close to Mount Kenya. After driving down the great Rift Valley, you will arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park which records to almost millions of flamingos. You will then proceed to the greatest wonder of mother nature the Masai Mara National Reserve where you will get to see almost all the animals found in east and central Africa especially the Big Five. The safari's route include one night at Nairobi, one night at Aberdare, one night at Lake Nakuru, and two nights at Masai Mara.
All the scheduled regular road safaris are guaranteed for a minimum of two persons. To accord each traveler a window seat, each minibus carries a maximum of seven passengers. Since the company policy is not to split couples, the maximum occupancy that is normally found during a safari is six passengers per vehicle.
For the regular road safaris, English-speaking driver and guide will be provided and is knowledgeable in the flora and fauna of the country. If advised upon booking on the language preference of your choice, Campofrio Safaris will endeavor, if and where possible, to allocate a driver/guide who can communicate in the preferred language.
At the hotels, lodges, or camps, Christmas and New Year supplements are generally applicable from 15th December, 2017 to 8th January 2018, inclusive. Easter Supplements are also generlly applicable from the 4th to the 7th of April, 2017, inclusive. It rates at 50 USD per person per night.
Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport (NBO), you will be met by Campofrio Safaris' representative and transferred to your city hotel for an overnight stay. Campofrio Safari's representative will take you through a brief pre-safari orientation before embarking on your dream luxury adventure safari of Kenya. Afterwards, you will stay at La Maison Royale Hotel.
Nairobi, Kenya's capital city, is a well-planned modern city of over two million inhabitants. It is justly described as a garden city as its broad avenues are lined with flowering plants and shrubs. Situated at an altitude of 1600 meters, it enjoys hot sunny days and cool evenings. Places of interest to the visitor include the Municipal Market, the ornate Jamia Mosque and the National Museum which is adjacent with Snake Park and Aviary. There are also several art galleries exhibiting work by local artists, displays of tribal dancing, two theaters, variety of good restaurants, and an abundance of fascinating curio shops.
You will have breakfast before proceeding with your luxury adventure safari to Aberdare National Park arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, you will be transferred to the Ark where you spent the whole day and night watching animals come down at the waterhole to drink. The Aberdare National Park covers the higher areas of the Aberdare Mountain Ranges of central Kenya.
Well known for the Ark, a world class hotel built in the shape of Noah's Ark, perched atop the treeline, you can easily observe the leopard, baboon, black and white Colobus monkey, and Sykes monkey. Rare sightings include those of the golden cat and the bongo, an elusive forest antelope that lives in the bamboo forest.
The Aberdare National Park also contains a large population of the black rhino. Bird viewing is rewarding as there are over 250 species of birds in the park, including the Jackson's Francolin, Sparry Hawk, Goshawks, Eagles, Sunbirds, and Plovers. Afterwards, you will have dinner and an overnight stay at The Ark Hotel. The distance to Aberdare is aproximately 200 kilometers and will take around three hours of drive. Lake Nakuru is a shallow soda lake, renowned for its huge concentration of flamingos. It is also a rhino sanctuary. You will embark on a game drive which includes a walk on the shores of the lake to view flamingos from close range. Keep your eyes open for the elusive leopard or the tree climbing lions of this park. The afternoon game drive is included and you will return to your lodge as the sun sets! Today's meal plan include breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
After breakfast, you will climb to the Western Escarpment of the Rift Valley and head towards Masai Mara. With its vast open plains and distinctive flat and topped with acacia trees, no visit to Kenya would be complete without a visit here. You will arrive just in time for lunch.
Afterwards, you will go on game drive which includes searching for the Big Five, elephants, buffaloes, lions, rhinos, and leopards. You will then have dinner before staying at Mara Leisure Lodge. The distance to Masai Mara is approximately 300 kilometers and will take a six-hour drive.
Masai Mara is effectively the northern continuation of the Serengeti National Park game reserve in Tanzania. Named after the Masai people, the traditional inhabitants of the area and their description of the area when looked at from a viewpoint, "Mara", which is Maa (Masai language) for spotted, an apt description for the circles of trees, scrub, savannah, and cloud shadows that mark the area.
It is famous for its exceptional population of big cats, game, and the annual migration of zebra, Thomson's gazelle, and wildebeest from the Serengeti every year from July to October. The migration is so immense, it is called the Great Migration. Today's meal plan include breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The early morning calm air of the Masai Mara has made possible the introduction of hot air balloon flights. It is available as an optional tour to see the park from a bird's eye view, beginning from leading lodges and camps in the reserve. You are advised to reserve early to avoid disappointment for this adventure.
You will begin your day with a pre-breakfast morning game drive in the reserve, a great opportunity to explore the vast flora and fauna of this magnificent reserve. After a rewarding game drive, you will return to your lodge for a late morning breakfast. Afterwards, you will continue on your day with lunch and a late afternoon game viewing drive.
As an alternative option, you can also have a full-day game drive with picnic lunch boxes which include visits to Mara River, Kenya Tanzania Border Post and stand a great chance to view the "Big Five". You will also have picnic lunch at Hippo Pool.
You will then return to your lodge late in the afternoon and just relax or visit the nearby Masai village if you want to as an optional excursion. Afterwards, you will have dinner and stay overnight at Mara Leisure Lodge. Today's meal plan include breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
After breakfast at the camp, you will embark on your return journey to Nairobi. You will arrive early in the afternoon and be dropped off in Nairobi. However, use of room is not included in price. You will then transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) for scheduled International departure flight. You will usually arrive three hours prior to flight departure time. The distance to Nairobi approximately is 270 kilometers and will take around six hours drive. Today's meal plan include breakfast.
