or a few years my wife and I and a couple with whom we have made several trips had talked of a Tanzania Great Migration Safari. Our overall planning concluded that we did not care for a "group" travel model, but wanted a specialized private trip for the four of us that would include classic safari vehicle travel (rather than air travel from lodge to lodge) and high-end "tent" camps with a couple of lodge stays. Research on sites such as tripadvisor led to a smaller company with excellent reviews called Bush2City Adventures. Solomon Jackson quickly responded to our initial inquiry with extensive information about his company and services, and a range of choices to help narrow our specific desires as to appropriate locations, level and offerings of lodging services, what animals were of most interest, travel times from one area to another, and pace of our game drives. He was patient and provided experienced advice to guide our selections, down to discussion of the attributes we sought in the guide with whom we would spend the ten days out in the "bush". He also provided specific pricing on each option. We travelled with Ally, whom we came to value both as a person and a professional with keen eyesight and deep knowledge of every type of animal and its habits in the wild. He cared for us in all ways to make us comfortable and our experience rich. The "route" had been charted by Jackson to cover the two areas where animals would be found in numbers, based on the variable of where feed was growing dependent on rains, which resulted in a perfect match with our desire for Great Migration herds and the animals' "birthing" season. Babies of all types abounded and gave us photo opportunities one could only hope for. The tent camps were outstanding, with furniture and indoor plumbing providing great comfort, and beautiful permanent lounge and dining facilities to enjoy views, drinks, and dinners. The staff we encountered were invariably personable and welcoming, with an obvious focus on putting smiles on our faces and attending to all of our needs. Ally, without prediction or pretension, delighted us with close encounters with scores of animals from the smallest birds and insects to the largest elephants and hungry Nile crocodiles. We scored multiple "checks" on encounters with "The Big Five". From watching a lioness stalk, wait still in the grass, and launch her lightening attack on a family of zebra walking by, to a huge bull elephant push down a tree.

Our safari trip was planned with another couple a year ago as we toured Burma.
We ended up booking 11 days – Arusha to Ngorongoro with overnights in Tarangire National Park, Lake Maynyara National Park, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro and back to Arusha. And a last minute balloon flight over the Serengeti. Everthing went smoothly from pick-up at the airport to change of hotels our last night when there was an electrical problem at our hotel in Ausha. Our vehicle was a land cruiser with pop-up roof – with just 2 couples it was very roomy. It was in excellent condition as we were very thankful the last day when there was a flash flood and we had to drive thru very deep water while others had to be pushed by locals. Our guide was Ally. His commad of English is excellent and his knowledge of the wildlife was “of the charts.” And this includes all the amazing birds, beautiful flowers and very interesting and strange trees. I cannot say enough about Ally – he is brillant, interesting and his patience - above and beyond – No request went unfullfilled – from stopping at pharmacy for cough medicine to finding the big 5 which meant a black rhino that was close enough to photograph. Highly recommend Bush 2 City and please ask for Ally – you will not be disappointed. We felt like we were saying goodby to an old friend at the end of our safari.

We had a great time on our safari visiting several parks and wilderness areas in northwest Tanzania. Our driver did a great job taking finding animals and making our trip memorable. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Would love to do another trip with this company again.

We had a great safari tour for 6 days with Bush2City. We did not look them up online beforehand, we were rather recommended to go with them via another guide we had in Lushoto. So we did not really know if they had the best offers or if they sucked. But when arriving in Arusha in the evening 2 staff members welcomed us at the bus terminal, brought us to the hotel (which they had arranged for us too ) and then we sat down for about 2 hours to plan our Safari which we inteded to start the following day!! So everything worked out although it was organised extremely short handed. We DID start the following day, went to 3 different National Parks in 5 days ( Ngorogoro, Serengeti and Tarangire ) together with a day of visiting local tribes. We camped 3 nights, and spent 2 nights at a local guesthouse. Altogether we payed roughly 1500 € for having everything included ( except for alcohol ). We were very satisfied with their flexibility, and with their service. Both, the staff members as well as our guide Solomon, spoke good English. And whenever we had minor issues Bush2City was able to adjust and solved the problem. So all in all ... we had a fantastic time!
