You will stay in middle class and small lodges where the focus lies on individuality and cleanliness.

Program

Day 1: Lusaka

After arrival in Lusaka transfer to a small lodge on the outskirts of town. Overnight in chalets at Pioneer Camp or similar. Dinner in a restaurant (meals not included).

Days 2, 3, and 4: Lower Zambezi National Park

After breakfast, drive through Lusaka and down the escarpment to the Zambezi valley. A visit to Lower Zambezi Park is one of the highlights of Zambia.

The Zambezi River on the one side and the escarpment on the other form the backdrop of the game viewing. You will do game drives in the park and boating along the river shore to watch the animals come to drink. On one of these days, you will do a sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi.

You will stay overnight in chalets at Kasaka Lodge or Lower Zambezi Lodge on the banks of the Zambezi River.

Day 5: via Lusaka to Kafue National Park

Today you drive up the escarpment and back to Lusaka, where you do some shopping for the next days in the bush. In the afternoon, you carry on to Kafue National Park, where you stay in chalets at Mukambi Lodge on the bank of the Kafue River.

Days 6 and 7: Busanga Plains – the northern part of Kafue National Park

Early start and transfer in the north-western direction to Busanga Plains This area can only be visited in a very limited time of the year. You will spend 2 days in this remote wilderness to explore the area on game drives. Overnight in Kasonso Camp.

Days 8 and 9: Kafue National Park – the north-eastern part

After your last morning game drive, you drive back to the Lufupa River, where a boat is waiting for you for a transfer upstream to Hippo Lodge. This part of the river impresses with its beautiful riverine scenery. You will do game drives in this area on day 9. Overnight in Chalets of Hippo Lodge.

Day 10: Lusaka

You leave the park and carry on to Lusaka, where you will spend the afternoon at the lodge or do some shopping in the capital. Overnight in chalets at Wilddog Lodge or similar. Dinner in the restaurant.

Day 11: Flight to Mfuwe – South Luangwa National Park

Transfer to the airport in Lusaka and take a flight to the airport in Mfuwe. Transfer to your lodge next to the Luangwa River. On this afternoon there is no activity included. A night game drive can be booked with the lodge (optional). Overnight in chalets of Marula Lodge or safari tents at Wildlife Camp or similar.

Days 12, 13, and 14: South Luangwa Park

South Luangwa National Park is known for its abundance of African wildlife: Thorneycroft’s giraffe, Cookson’s Gnu, Crawshay Zebra, and big herds of buffalo and elephants. Game drives along the Luangwa River often produce spectacular sightings. Hippo families can be seen in great numbers in the river, unparalleled in Africa. The colorful Carmine bee-eaters are often seen perching in front of their nests in the riverbanks.

Overnight in chalets of Marula Lodge or Wildlife Camp or similar.

Day 15: Departure day

Transfer to the airport Mfuwe and flight back home.

Visit three of Zambia's most famous national parks including the Busanga Plains in the northern part of Kafue National Park which can be only visited during a very limited time each year.

Food

The package includes meals as outlined in the itinerary and alcoholic drinks and soft drinks on days 6 and 7. For most days, Bundu Adventures only offers juice and drinking water.
