Enjoy game drives that will take you close to the Big Five. Spot the endangered white and black rhinos in Lake Nakuru, savor the Amboseli wildlife sightings and the beautiful Mount Kilimanjaro views. To end your trip, take in the Indian Ocean blue waters, the cool breeze, and even swim with the dolphins at the Wasini Island. This is a perfect way to end your trip.
During this safari, your accommodation will be basic and budget. You will be staying in the following accommodations:
Upon arrival as per the estimated arrival time, you will meet Budget Holiday Safaris' driver at the airport who will welcome you and transfer you to Mash Park Hotel where you will be spending your first night in Nairobi. The hotel will be booked on half board basis (dinner and breakfast)
Budget Holiday Safaris will arrange your pick up either from the airport or your Nairobi hotel and transfer you to their office to be introduced to the driver guide and other group members. By 8:30 to 8:45 a.m., depart for Maasai Mara Game Reserve with the first stop at the viewpoint for the view of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Later, descend the escarpment and travel on it to Narok town for early lunch. After leaving Narok Town, proceed to the game reserve arriving at Miti Mingi Eco Camp. Check-in and have a little siesta. You will have a first and introductory game drive for at least three hours, return to the camp for Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast will be served at Miti Mingi Eco Camp then before 8 a.m., leave the camp with packed lunch for an extensive eight hours of game viewing. Maasai Mara Game Reserve has the highest number of different wildlife species and you will be lucky to see hundreds of them.
A game drive to Mara River is compulsory. If it will fall on the Great Migration season, you will witness the crossing of zebras and the wildebeest, otherwise you will see crocodiles and hippopotamus at the river. Picnic lunch inside the park then continues with the game drive until 5 p.m.
Leave the park for at least two hours for an optional activity. You will choose either to relax at the camp, take a nature walk with Maasai warriors, or visit a Maasai village. Later you will be transferred back to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Early morning game drive from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. then back to the camp for full breakfast. Check out and leave Maasai Mara for Lake Nakuru with lunch en-route, view of Mount Longonot can be seen en-route and an optional activity at Lake Naivasha is available if you're interested. You can take a boat ride to watch the birds and see the hippopotamus. You will arrive at Nakuru Town in the evening. Check-in at Citymax Hotel for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Lake Nakuru which is famous for the endangered species of Rhinoceros and the flamingos. Sometimes the flamingos are very few but you are guaranteed of seeing the rhinos among other Big Five.
Lake Nakuru is not a big park and within four hours you will have seen enough. Later leave the park with lunch en-route and drive back to Amboseli National Park. You will arrive at Amboseli Gate in the evening and check-in at Amboseli Kimana Camp for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast at the camp, leave with picnic lunch for the full day game viewing. You will have your picnic lunch at the base of the Mt. Kilimanjaro and continue with the game drive until 5 p.m. You will have seen the Jumbo elephants of Amboseli among other great animals as they graze and bath on the swampy areas of Amboseli. Drive back to the camp for any optional activity or relax as you view the Mount Kilimanjaro. Later dinner and overnight will be served at Kimana Amboseli Camp.
Early in the morning, have a cup of tea / coffee then proceed for the morning game drive, enjoy the sunrise and take great pictures. For the two nights in Amboseli, you will be able to see Mount Kilimanjaro which as the highest peak in Africa.
By 8:30 to 9 a.m., back to the camp for full breakfast, check out, and drive to Emali where you will catch a Tahmeed Bus to Mombasa. This is a luxury bus and you will be at Mombasa before 6:30 p.m., meet your driver and be transferred to Plaza Beach Hotel. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
Pick up from Plaza Beach Hotel at 5 to 5:30 a.m. for a long journey to Wasini island. Cross the Likoni Ferry and together with your guide, pass drive to Wasini as you get information from your guide about the Tiwi Beach, Diani Beach, and what you expect to get at Wasini island.
Upon arrival, board a boat and cross to Wasini Island where you will be able to swim with dolphins and have a seafood lunch. Later return to your guide for a journey back to Mombasa. Dinner and overnight at Plaza Beach Hotel.
Plaza Beach Hotel is just a stone's throw to the beach and on this day, Budget Holiday Safaris will not schedule any activity as they wish you will be able to relax at the beach or at the hotel. Lunch and dinner will be at own.
After breakfast at your hotel, your driver will be there to give you half a day Mombasa City Tour where you will visit the Old Town, Fort Jesus, Mama Ngina Drive, Elephants Task, and the Kongowea Market.
Later have lunch and return to the hotel to collect your luggage. Finally, you will be dropped at Moi International Airport (MBA) right on time to check-in for your flight home or to another destination.
