This safari tour will take place in Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara National Reserve, Speke Gulf, Lake Victoria, Serengeti National Park, and Ngorongoro, to name but a few locations that you will visit in Kenya and Tanzania.
Maasai Mara is the land of African legends, where lions are abundant throughout the park, as well as elephants, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of gazelle species. Cheetahs and leopards are also regularly seen while rhinos are less commonly seen. Furthermore, the annual wildebeest migration occurs there from July to September.
During this time, big animals and their prey will be present in abundance. Additionally, several species of bee-eater, the flying rainbow bird which is at the top of the Maasai Mara bird list, will also be present in the reserve.
Speke Bay is part of Speke Gulf, named after the famous explorer John Hanning Speke, who, in 1858, discovered Lake Victoria to be the source of the Nile.
Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebras and 300,000 Thomson's gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing.
Yet, even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala, and Grant’s gazelle.
