During this safari, you will visit Mara River.
Lake Nakuru National Park is home to up to 1.5 million flamingos plus 450 other species of birds, rhinos, lions, leopards, buffaloes, Thompson’s and Grant's gazelles, the rare long-eared leaf-nosed bats, colobus monkeys, rock hyraxes, hippos, leopards, lions, rhinos, waterbucks, impalas, gazelles, striped hyenas, bat-eared foxes, wild cats, reedbucks, golden cats, and the endangered reticulated giraffes among other animals.
During peak season, over one million flamingos plus half a million pelicans congregate on the lake. The park also contains Kenya’s largest population of rhinos. Lake Nakuru, located within the Lake Nakuru National Park, is a shallow strongly alkaline lake set in a picturesque landscape of surrounding woodland and grassland. The landscape includes areas of marsh and grasslands alternating with rocky cliffs and outcrops, stretches of acacia woodland, and rocky hillsides covered with a euphorbia forest.
Maasai Mara National Reserve is an outstanding and one of Kenya's finest wildlife reserve with an abundant wildlife and birds. Between July and October, you can see the great wildebeest migration. Maasai Mara National Reserve is one of the best plains' game reserve where you can actually encounter a live Discovery Channel, a haven for viewing a congregation of all sorts of animals in a five-mile radius. A pride of lions can be spotted ready to make a run for a gazelle, a cheetah and its cub taking a nap on a rock as well as a pair of ostriches walking the open stretches of the savannah.
Aberdares National Park was created in 1950 to protect the forested slopes and moors of Aberdare Mountains. While the park has elephants, lions, rhinos, black leopards, and the beautiful but elusive bongo antelopes, this place is rarely visited by safari companies and individual travelers. There are a number of reasons for this. One is that the high rainfall turns the roads to mudslides plus you need a 4x4 vehicle to get anywhere. As a result, the park often closes in the wet season. Added to this, there is a dense forest which makes game viewing tricky.
Mount Kenya National Park was created around Africa's second highest mountain. It is a favorite place for trekkers and serious mountain climbers. The forest and lower slopes abound with the elephants, Cape buffalos, and fantastic bird lives as well as giant forest hogs.
Samburu National Reserve is one of the lesser-known national parks but is nevertheless teeming with life. Situated alongside Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty to attract wildlife from the surrounding savannah plains. The reserves within the ecological zone V which is classified as arid and semi-arid with a moisture index of 42 to 57 indicates that evapotranspiration is greater than available moisture.
During this safari, you will get daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You will savor your lunch at Nairobi Carnivore Restaurant on the last day of the safari. In addition, East Africa offers an impressive range of food to suit all visitors needs from vegetarian diets to full course meals.
Whether in a luxury city hotel or deep in the bush, a traveler is almost guaranteed to find a mouth-watering buffet with a wide variety of meats to fresh salads. The food is relatively safe to try while in a hotel or lodge which caters for international tourists. Soft drinks and alcohol are also readily available, cheap, and safe to drink at an additional cost.
During your stay at Kongoni Camp, you can spoil yourself with spa treatments that can be enjoyed at an additional cost.
