Tsavo East National Park is huge. Over 11,747 square kilometers of bushy grasslands, open plains, and semi-arid acacia scrub make up Kenya's oldest and largest game park. Tsavo National Park is credited with one of the world's leading biodiversity strongholds. From red-brown rivers surrounded by green grass and doum palms to the endless plains covered in red dust with a single surviving acacia tree, the scenery is constantly changing.
Tsavo West National Park is a 9,000-square-kilometer game park in southern Kenya located about 200 kilometers southeast of Nairobi. Separated only by the Mombasa / Nairobi road from Tsavo East, Tsavo West is part of the entire Tsavo eco-system. Famous for the Mzima Springs with its unique underwater hippo observatory and for the Shetani Lava Flow as well as Chaimu Volcanic Crater, the park offers plenty of opportunities to explore on foot. In addition, the park has recorded over 600 species of birds.
Amboseli as a safari destination hosts large elephant herds, the big cats, herbivores, and numerous bird species including ostriches and a variety of plain games. Amboseli National Park lies immediately northwest of Mount Kilimanjaro on the border with Tanzania. The park covers 392 square kilometers and forms part of the much larger 3,000-square-kilometer Amboseli ecosystem. Large concentrations of wildlife occur here in the dry season, making Amboseli a popular safari reserve.
Amboseli National Park embodies five main wildlife habitats (open plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush country, swamps, and marshland) and covers part of a Pleistocene lake basin. Within the basin, there is a temporary lake, Lake Amboseli, that floods during years of heavy rainfall. Amboseli National Park has over 80 different mammals to be found ranging from tiny (and rarely seen) spectacle elephant shrew to the huge bulk of the African elephants. There are also over 400 bird species.
During this safari, you will get daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You will savor your lunch at Nairobi Carnivore Restaurant on the last day of the safari. In addition, East Africa offers an impressive range of food to suit all visitors needs from vegetarian diets to full course meals.
Whether in a luxury city hotel or deep in the bush, a traveler is almost guaranteed to find a mouth-watering buffet with a wide variety of meats to fresh salads. The food is relatively safe to try while in a hotel or lodge which caters for international tourists. Soft drinks and alcohol are also readily available, cheap, and safe to drink at an additional cost.
You can arrive at Moi International Airport (MBA). Bruno Safaris will pick you up there and it is included in the price.
