Arrival: Airport - Arusha
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Soon after clearing all the immigration procedures at the airport, meet your driver-guide and transfer to the hotel in Arusha town, about 50 minutes' drive. On your way, you will enjoy seeing mixed plantations of coffee and banana trees. Relax and spend the night at your Green Mountain Lodge on a half-board basis before starting your safari the next day.
Day 1: Arusha - Tarangire
Just after breakfast, leave Arusha for Tarangire National Park.
Tarangire National Park is famous for its marvelous baobab trees, rolling savannah, and acacia woodland; see the Tarangire River, which crosses the park, with its importance to the flora and fauna of the park. Have lunch at the picnic site within the park, then continue with the game drive in the park until sundown. Dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Trees Inn Lodge.
Day 2: Tarangire - Serengeti
In the morning, just after breakfast, drive directly to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro Gate. Have a picnic lunch on the way to Serengeti. Arrive in Serengeti Park in the late afternoon, with a game drive en route. Dinner and overnight at Thorn Tree Tented Lodge in the central Serengeti.
Day 3: Full day Serengeti National Park
Full-day safari in Serengeti National Park. An early morning game drive starts at around 06:00 (optional). You can organize with your guide! All Big Five can be viewed: lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and even the famous wildebeest migration, depending on their location in the park. In the afternoon, have hot lunch at the lodge, then continue with the game drive in Serengeti Park. Dinner and overnight at your Thorn Tree Lodge.
Day 4: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater
Leave Serengeti early in the morning with a packed breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for the crater tour, where you will have a chance to view all the Big Five land mammals and other wildlife. Enjoy the game drive until noon, when you will go for a great spot for lunch on the crater floor. After that, continue with the game drive in the Crater, then drive up to Eileen’s Lodge in the late afternoon.
Day 5: Local Activities at Mto wa Mbu
Just after breakfast, drive to Mto wa Mbu, where you will meet the local community and enjoy several cultural tourism activities. Visit the Maasai traditional boma and interact with the Maasai people in a number of ways. You will have the opportunity to visit the village farms, especially the banana plantations, and explore how the local people do this farming. You can also choose among interesting walking, hiking, and biking tours to the shore of Lake Manyara. Dinner and overnight at Green Mountain Lodge on a half-board basis.
Day 6: Fly back home
Drop off at the airport, ready to catch your flight back home or to your next destination.
