Program
Embark on an extraordinary tour featuring visits to two national parks: Mikumi National Park and Udzungwa Mountains National Park. This captivating journey begins and ends in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania’s busiest and largest city.
Over three days, you’ll experience a thrilling game drive in Mikumi National Park, encountering diverse wildlife. Afterward, venture to Udzungwa for a scenic hike and waterfall exploration, where you’ll also have the opportunity to observe birds and monkeys amidst the lush surroundings.
Day 1 - From Dar to Mikumi
You'll be picked up from Dar es Salaam airport and then transferred to Mikumi Resort. Upon arrival, check in, and at 07:00, you’ll be picked up from your accommodation and begin your journey to Mikumi National Park, which will take approximately five to six hours. Along the way, you’ll stop for lunch before reaching the park.
Soon after arrival, you will join for walking safari to explore culture and nature, then set out for an afternoon game drive. Keep your eyes peeled for a variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, elands, roan, sable antelopes, and more. After the game drive, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2 - Touring Mikumi and Udzungwa Mountains
Participants will spend a full day inside the Mikumi National Park and Udzungwa Mountains with packed lunch. After breakfast, you’ll depart from your accommodation in the early morning for a transfer to Udzungwa Mountain.
Along the way, you’ll have the option to stop at the Masai Boma to immerse yourself in the culture of the Masai people. There, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about their daily lives from a Masai mama as she shares insights into their traditions and routines.
Continuing on to Udzungwa Mountain, you’ll be greeted by a guide / ranger upon arrival who will accompany you on a hike. Renowned for its exceptional hiking and trekking opportunities, the Udzungwa Mountains offers captivating nature walks.
One of the most popular trails leads to Sanje Waterfalls, providing a perfect setting for observing monkeys and various bird species. Indulge in the breathtaking scenery while enjoying a picnic lunch amidst the stunning views.
Day 3 - Departure
Following breakfast, you’ll check out of your camp / lodge and begin your journey back with a brief game drive in the park. This allows for the opportunity to increase your wildlife sightings or spot animals you may have missed during previous drives.
Afterward, conclude the game drive and commence the transfer back to Dar-es-Salaam, arriving in the evening.
This day will have hiking at Uluguru mountain and waterfalls, then drive back to Dar es Salaam airport to catch a flight back home or take boat to Zanzibar Island, marking the end of this all-inclusive package.
