You will be provided four nights of accommodation at the Bardia Jungle Resort during this safari.


Day 1: Arrival

You will fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and then drive to Bardia, or you can drive from Kathmandu to Thakurdwara by night bus and then get transferred to the resort. After breakfast and a short briefing about the program, you will visit a crocodile breeding center and Tharu village. Overnight stay will be at the resort. Estimated driving time is 13 hours.

Day 2: Full day jungle walk

After an early breakfast, you will set out for a jungle walk with a nature guide and a porter. As you go deep in the jungle, there are high possibilities of encountering the rhino, wild Asian elephants, or Bengal tiger among other animals. Overnight stay will be at the resort.

Day 3: Rafting in Karnali

After breakfast, you will drive for an hour to Chisapani over the Karnali Bridge, and then you will begin the floating safari on raft. As there are no big rapids on the river, one can have the superb view of magnificent landscapes and birdlife among other animals. The raft stops once in a while for small walks in wildlife areas. Overnight stay will be at the resort.

Day 4: Jeep and elephant safari

After breakfast, you will explore the national park in a jeep while enjoying the geography and ecosystem of the Bardia National Park. The jeep halts in some areas so that you can have small walks to enjoy yourself.

Following lunch, you will start your expedition around the park with an elephant safari which might give you an opportunity to encounter the rhinos and get close to them. Overnight stay will be at the resort.

Day 5: Departure

After breakfast get, you will get ready to depart from the resort for your onward destination.

This safari will be held at the Bardia National Park in Nepal.

Bardia National Park

The Bardia National Park is the largest and most undisturbed protected area in the terai and is the home to the endangered royal Bengal tiger and Nepal’s famous one-horned rhinoceros. It is situated in the mid far western Terai, east of the Karnali River of the country.

About 70% of the land is covered with forest with the balance a mixture of grassland and riverrine forest. You will reach here three hours by jeep (95 kilometers) from Nepalgunj which is one hour ten minutes by air or 531 kilometers by road from Kathmandu.

The famous park offers 30 different mammals, more than 250 species of birds, and several varities of reptiles and water animals.

Some of the other animals found here are elephant, swamp deer, blackbuck, gharial crocodile, and marsh mugger crocodile. The exotic Gangetic dolphin is also sometimes seen in river Karnali. The activities done here are jungle safari on elephant back, jungle walk, boat ride, jeep drive etc.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM). Your flight to Nepalgunj Airport (KEP) from Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) is included in the price.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 14% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
