Four years ago, BM Tours made the decision to promote their country and its tourist attractions internationally. They love their land and feel completely identified with it. Promoting Ecuador is a challenge, and they are committed to representing it well through tours like this one, which will lead you through the best that Ecuador has to offer, such as the beautiful city of Guayaquil, the mesmerizing island of Santa Cruz, and other breathtaking Galapagos Islands.
You will spend three nights of lodging in Guayaquil and four nights in Santa Cruz, at accommodations of your choice, either economy or superior.
Transfer from José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport (GYE) to start this cultural tour during which you will visit the Ecua-Andean hat factory where you will learn all about the manufacture of Paja Toquilla hats and you can take a souvenir with the stamp of Ecuador.
The museum tour consists of appreciating various pieces of collection and works of art which have been collected and preserved since the nineteenth century. Once the visit to the museum is finished, tourists will be transferred back to the hotel.
Note: Tourists will have the opportunity to choose two of the museums they wish to visit depending on availability.
Guayaquil, also known as La Perla del Pacífico, is the largest and most populated city in Ecuador. It has a great commercial tradition and is betting on tourism, becoming a national and international tourist destination, home to numerous fairs and international events.
The points of interest visited during this tour are: The Park of Las Iguanas (Parque Seminario), San Pedro Cathedral, Municipal Palace, Simón Bolívar Malecón, Rotunda Hemiciclo, Las Peñas Traditional Neighborhood, and Puerto Santa Ana, Panama Hat Factory Ecua Andino, and the historical park.
The historical park has an area of wildlife, an urban architectural area, and a traditional area in order to recreate the old lifestyle of Guayaquileños.
In the afternoon, you move to the historical park where you will begin the journey from the Wildlife Zone. Here, you will appreciate the different varieties of mangrove and the important role they play within the biological cycles of the region. Throughout the visit, you will make some stops in places that will allow you to better appreciate the different species of animals or plants in the park.
Later you will visit the Architectural Urban Zone where you will find the reconstruction of two buildings of the twentieth century. You will visit Casa Campesina, enter the different environments of it, and learn a little more about the way of life of the peasants who worked the fields of rice, banana, coffee, and, of course, cocoa during the time of the cocoa boom. In addition, you can appreciate the tools used and the distribution of this rural house.
One of the most important tourist attractions of the city is the Patrimonial Cemetery of Guayaquil. There are four routes: Heroes of Independence, Presidents, Writers and Artists, and Fine Arts. The specialized guides will show you the sculptures that have great meaning and were created by artists from Europe and South America who worked together with Ecuadorian sculptors and architects.
Among them you can find sculptures made by international artists, with Carrara marble, statues, busts, mausoleums, and bas-reliefs.
In the morning, you will visit the sector known as La Bahia, a popular market, very varied and safe, where clothing, technology, and various items are offered at very attractive prices. Here, you will see up close the "bargaining" (negotiation) between seller and client.
After this, you will visit the Handicraft Market of Guayaquil, where you will see famous works of art, clothing, ceramics, and Ecuadorian jewelry. Finally, you will get to know the hat factory of Ecua-Andean, where you will learn everything about the manufacture of Paja Toquilla hats and you can take a souvenir with the stamp of Ecuador.
At the indicated time, you will meet in the hotel lobby to head towards Guayaquil airport.
You will arrive at Baltra airport and have a personalized welcome (sign with your name and companion) to go to Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island. You will leave the airport to arrive in a bus that will take you to Canal de Itabaca which you will cross by a barge (the maximum time of sailing is 10 minutes). When you arrive on Santa Cruz Island, you will start the tour through what is called the upper part of the island.
You will take the road to visit three places: the twins (geological faults), the ranch where you can see the Galapagos turtles, and the lava tunnel. These three places of tourist interest are visited autonomously (the driver takes you to the three places and waits for you during the activities). The tour will end at the selected hotel for check-in.
Today you have the chance to choose a full day cruise between the two following available options.
At the agreed time, you will start your day with a transfer from your hotel to the pier of Puerto Ayora to board the yacht that will take you to the island of Santa Fe (24 square kilometers) which is 164 meters above sea level.
It is one of the central islands and the only place to visit an incredible bay of turquoise water protected by a natural barrier of rocks over which you can see sea lions colonies and hawks and where you can swim and dive with sea turtles, marine wolves, and fish. Once all the activities are finished, you will return to Puerto Ayora.
At the agreed time, you will meet in the lobby of the hotel to go to the port from where you will sail for one hour and 45 minutes to get to Floreana where you will visit the main attractions of the island such as the ruins of the pirates and the freshwater springs at 450 meters high.
You will take a trip to Scalecias Forest, near the refuge of peace, and to Galapaguera where you can see Galapagos tortoises. Later, you can visit the Asilo de la Paz, an agricultural hill ideal for hiking, and the Black Beach where you can relax, swim, and snorkel. At the end of the activities, you will return to the dock of Puerto Ayora.
Today you can choose a full day cruise between three available options.
In the morning, the driver will pick you up at your hotel, and you will go to the dock to board the yacht that will take you on your journey. The island of Bartolomé has the most spectacular landscapes of the archipelago. This entire island is undoubtedly the most photographed of all the Galapagos Islands, and you will have the opportunity to snorkel during the tour.
Upon arrival, you have to climb a wooden staircase to the summit to see a spectacular landscape of two beautiful bays and observe fascinating lava formations and volcanic cones. You must walk about 600 meters to reach the top of the volcanic craters and lava tubes.
The walk to the summit lasts about 30 to 40 minutes. Many people and scientists have nicknamed the island Bartolomé with the name of guiding geology because it has a peculiar volcanic origin.
When you reach the top of Bartolomé, you will witness one of the best panoramic views of the Galapagos Islands. From there, you can see the island of Santiago, Seymour del Norte, Isla de Baltra, Santa Cruz, and Isla de Rabida. At the end of the tour, the captain will leave you at the dock of Puerto Ayora.
In the morning, the driver will pick you up at the hotel and take you to Itabaca Canal to board the yacht that goes to Seymour Norte, a spectacular place to walk, swim, and enjoy diving.
On this island, you can enjoy the ecosystem full of Palo Santo trees and colonies of blue-footed boobies that perform their mating dance in the open areas of the island.
Sometimes, the pikemen make their nest right on the tourist circuit, so you have to be a little careful not to step on them when you walk. You can see the nests of many of them, including seagulls, frigates, and yellow trinators.
There is a circular road in Seymour about two kilometers long that crosses the interior of the island and leads to the rocky coast road. This trail will take you through some of the largest seabird colonies in the Galapagos Islands. Once all the activities are finished, the tour ends at the Puerto Ayora dock.
You start the tour at 7:30 a.m. at your hotel with a path to the pier of Canal de Itabaca and follow the itinerary on board the yacht. You will take a tour of the attractive and colored turquoise waters of the canal contrasting with the bright white sand and the black lava coast.
The road gradually continues towards the highest part of the island, to the canyons that will allow you to observe the ocean to the south, where you can observe seagull nests, tropical birds, and masked and blue-footed boobies that follow the wind currents. At the end of the tour, you will return to the pier.
First, you will visit the Lobería, a small island located two miles away, where you will have the opportunity to swim with the sea lions. Then, you will move to the Canal de Tiburones, a fissure or cleft crack formed by magmatic chamber, where you can observe the tintoreras ravine sharks. The third destination to visit is the Canal del Amor, another fissure fantastic for photography, of exceptional scenic beauty.
Then, you will go to Franklin Bay where you will find sea turtles, golden rays, eagle rays, and a mangrove area where pelicans and herons nest, depending on the season.
La Grieta is the next place to visit. Here, you will take a 15-minute walk on the lava rocks where you can see Darwin's finches, shorebirds, and the lagoon's endemic and native vegetation. The cracks are still the channels of sharks and love, only inland, where the water is less salty. Here, you can enjoy snorkeling and swimming.
Finally, visit La Playa de Los Perros where you will have the option of hiking. This beach was named for the large number of dog crabs found in the area, along with the largest marine iguanas on the island of Santa Cruz. Once all the activities are finished, you will return to the hotel.
At the agreed time, you will transfer to the airport to take the return flight home.
During the tour, you will be provided with daily breakfast.
