This tour is made for those who want to discover endangered ground, flying, and underwater animals. It is also an off-the-beaten-track tour given that Anakao is not among the most visited places in Madagascar, despite the fact that its beach and surfing spots are splendid! This is an amazing fauna and flora lovers tour!

Day 1: Antananarivo

  • Reception
  • You will be picked up at the airport in Antananarivo and be transferred to the hotel where you'll spend the night.

Day 2: Antananarivo - Ranomafana

  • Depart to the road towards the South, the RN7. You can admire the beautiful landscapes of the highlands along the road; sumptuous valleys, small villages, and rice paddies will fascinate you.
  • Arrive in Ranomafana in the afternoon.

Day 3: Ranomafana - Ranohira

  • In the morning, visit Ranomafana National Park that is a part of the Atsinanana humid forests, registered in the World Heritage Sites of UNESCO. This tourist site is crossed by 25 rivers and is home to a great diversity of fauna and flora, some of which is the rare golden hapalemur, an endangered species, afterward, go further south.

Day 4: Ranohira

  • This day is dedicated to the visit of Isalo National Park; this ruiniform massif is a protected area of about 80,000 hectares. It is above all the habitat of numerous fauna and flora species scattered throughout the reserve. Apart from reptiles and lemurs, 77 bird species live there, 70% of which are endemic. Moreover, hiking in the canyons, and swimming in natural pools will be in the program.
  • For the more athletic, there is a possibility to visit the reserve by bike (optional).
  • Towards the end of the afternoon, admire the sunset through the Isalo Window, an opportunity to take some pictures; postcard landscape. *Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Ranohira - Tulear

  • Depart to Tulear.
  • Cross the Mahafaly plateau and its many tombs surmounted by Aloalo (carved wooden posts). The Mahafaly tomb is a funerary art with representative drawings of the deceased's life. You will also see baobabs in the beautiful scenery of the Great South spectacular landscape.
  • Finally, visit Antsokay Arboretum which is the perfect place for flora lovers since there are about 900 plant species, 90% of which are endemic.

Day 6: Tulear - Anakao

  • Have a boat transfer from Tulear to Anakao.
  • Once you arrived at Anakao, you will have an excursion to Nosy Ve where the very rare Red-Tailed Tropicbird dwells.
  • Apart from surfing, you can also do lots of watersports in Anakao such as surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and open water diving.

Day 7: Anakao

  • Explore a virgin island called Nosy Satrana, it is a genuine off-the-beaten-track spot.

Day 8: Anakao

  • Visit Tsimanampetsotsa Park where you will do birdwatching, trekking, and whale-watching (from July to September in general).
  • Included Meals: Breakfast and Dinner

Day 9: Anakao

  • Have a free day for yourself.

Day 10: Anakao

  • Have a free day for yourself.

Day 11: Anakao - Tulear

  • Have a boat transfer from Anakao to Tulear then you will be picked up at the port and transferred to the hotel.
  • Have this free day to relax or to visit Tulear.

Day 12: Tulear - Antananarivo

  • You will be transferred to Tulear airport and have your return flight to Antananarivo.
  • Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel.

Day 13: Antananarivo - International Return Flight

  • Visit the dike craft market.
  • You will be transferred to the airport for your international return flight.
  • Included Meals: Breakfast
