Day 1: Antananarivo

Reception at Ivato Antananarivo Airport (TNR) and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at a hotel. Meal included : Dinner

Day 2: Antananarivo - Antsirabe (3 hours and 45 minutes - 171 kilometers)

Departure for the road towards the south, the RN7. Stop at Ambatolampy, 73 kilometers from Antananarivo to discover the workshops of pots and kitchen utensils in aluminum manufacturers. Free lunch. Continue to Antsirabe.

You can admire the beautiful landscapes of the highlands all along the road: sumptuous valleys, small villages, and rice paddies will fascinate you. Arrive in Antsirabe, the spa town, and the first industrial center of Madagascar. It produces two of the most famous brands of beer on the Island.

In the afternoon, visit of the mythical Lake Tritriva, one of the most mysterious places in Madagascar. This ancient crater is a site in which two lovers would have drowned themselves because of a forbidden marriage, and then they reincarnate as branches intertwined with two neighboring trees coming out of a bank rock. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 3: Antsirabe - Ranomafana (6 hours - 230 kilometers)

Departure towards Ranomafana. All along the road, you will appreciate the beautiful traditional houses, typical of the highlands. Arrive in Ambositra after two hours, workshops visit of the most famous Malagasy artisans; their know-how in marquetry and woodcarving, listed in the UNESCO cultural heritage, better known as "art zafimaniry", are so sublime that one can leave the city of Ambositra only after buying their product as a souvenir. After lunch, continue to Ranomafana. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 4: Ranomafana - Fianarantsoa (1 hour and 30 minutes - 60 kilometers)

In the morning, visit of Ranomafana National Park which is part of the Atsinanana humid forests and therefore, registered in the World Heritage Sites of UNESCO. This tourist site is crossed by 25 rivers and is home to a great diversity of fauna and flora, some of which is the rare golden hapalemur, an endangered species.

In the afternoon, continue to Fianarantsoa. Visit of this city and its monuments, among which about fifty religious édifices. It also gained a wide reputation thanks to its vineyards, it is the only producer of wine (white, red, rosé and gray wines) in Madagascar. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 5: Fianarantsoa - Ranohira (6 hours - 285 kilometers)

Continue the road towards Ranohira. After 60 kilometers, stop at Ambalavao to visit an Antemoro papermaking workshop which is a local handicraft specialty based on avoha, a fibrous bark. 15 kilometers further south, visit of the Anja village reserve which is a park created by the inhabitants of this place rich in biodiversity.

You can observe the particular makiscatta lemur. Continue to Ranohira with a fascinating crossing of a new type of landscape, that of the Far West of Madagascar. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 6: Ranohira

Today is dedicated to the visit of the national park of Isalo. This ruiniform massif is a 80,000 hectares protected area. It is above all the habitat of several species of fauna and flora scattered throughout the reserve. Apart from reptiles and lemurs, 77 species of birds live there, 70% of which are endemic.

Hiking in the canyons, and swimming in natural pools will be in the program. For the more athletic people, there is a possibility to visit the reserve by bike (optional). Towards the end of the afternoon, admiration of the sunset through the Isalo Window, an opportunity to take some great pictures in this picturesque landscape. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 7: Ranohira - Ifaty (6 hours - 265 kilometers)

Departure to Ifaty. You will cross the Mahafaly Plateau and its many tombs surmounted by Aloalo (carved wooden posts). The Mahafaly tomb is a funerary art with representative drawings of the deceased's life. Appreciate baobabs in the beautiful scenery of the Great South spectacular landscape, then stop for a visit of Antsokay arboretum which is the perfect place for flora lovers since there are about 900 plant species, which 90% are endemic.

Arrive in Ifaty in the afternoon, it is the quintessence of the trip to Madagascar for seaside tourism enthusiasts: sun throughout the year, white sandy beach, quad bike ride by the sea, canoe trip, water sports, etc. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 9: Return flight from Tuléar to Antananarivo

Transfer to Tulear airport and domestic flight to Antananarivo. Reception and transfer to a hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: Antananarivo - Andasibe (3 hours - 150 kilometers)

Departure towards Andasibe. Stop at Marozevo for a visit to the exotic park Peyrieras which is the paradise of chameleons, geckos, butterflies, crocodiles, lemurs, snakes, but also aquatic plants. In the afternoon, visit of the Vakona private reserve to discover some tamed lemurs widespread throughout the sparsed islets. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 11: Andasibe

In the morning, visit the special reserve of Analamazaotra, where you can observe a great diversity of fauna and flora, including Indri indri which has several features: it is the largest and the noisiest lemurs. The indri is also interesting due to the fact that it has no tail and above all, it is monogamous. In all, 12 species of lemurs live in this reserve, including the tawny lemur. Free afternoon. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 12: Andasibe - Antananarivo (3 hours - 150 kilometers)

Return to Antananarivo. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 13: Antananarivo - international flight

Visit the dike craft market. Transfer to Ivato airport for the international flight.

Madagascar, the island-continent, is the perfect traveling spot for globetrotters and explorers, granted that 80% of its fauna and flora are endemic, thus it is also an authentic place to visit. It is the fourth biggest island in the world in which 18 tribes are widespread throughout the country, each of them has their own cultural characteristics. Thus, natural and cultural discoveries await there.


You will be served half board meals during the tour, except on Day 6 in Ranohira where you will be provided full board meals.

There are various types of dishes and the Malagasy culinary art will amaze you. For a more authentic trip, do not hesitate to taste their succulent traditional meals which are among the most exquisite in the world.

A meal usually costs between 6 and 15 EUR in a restaurant or hotel, and between 2 and 5 EUR in a restaurant or in a small restaurant.
