Miti Mingi Eco Camp

In Masai Mara, you will spend your three nights at Miti Mingi Eco Camp, located on the slopes of the Oloolamuita Hills. This Masai Mara accommodation offers magnificent views across the eastern reaches of the park. This camp is one kilometer from the Ololaimutia Gate and seven kilometers from the Sekenani Gate.

Miti Mingi Eco Camp is the best-improved budget accommodation available in Masai Mara, making it the perfect place to be within walking distance and being the closest campsite to the main entrance gate of Oloolaimutia in Mara National Game Reserve.

It boasts numerous well-maintained grass areas and an abundance of different varieties of trees, making the surroundings in the camp very enjoyable. It makes this camp very popular for families and children as it has a safe and secure scenic environment for children to play.

Miti Mingi Eco Camp has three different styles of accommodation; however, for special events, more guests can be accommodated with prior arrangements. All rooms in the camp have scenic views over the Mara with a sit for hour’s veranda with outside chairs.

Each of these accommodation options suits different traveler’s needs, but the high standards of service are maintained throughout the camp no matter what option you choose. They provide delicious and affordable menu catering for breakfast, lunches, and dinner, as well as snacks during the day.

This small and exclusive campsite comprises 25 tents. The tents are furnished with all the amenities required by the modern traveler. Decorated in calming safari tones, natural woods, wrought iron, and crisp cotton, each tent has been meticulously planned to maximize comfort. All tents have four-poster beds and mosquito nets, en-suite with shower, WC, and flush toilets, hot and cold running water, and electricity with a voltage of 240 volts.

Program

Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara

Pick up from the airport, hotel, or your residence in Nairobi at 8:00 a.m. and head southward to the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley for a brief stop over to view the escarpment. Continue to Narok, a small Masai town for lunch. proceed to Masai mara then check in to your camp for a brief refreshment then followed by afternoon game drive in the game reserve which is Kenya's finest wildlife sanctuary. Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here.

Although July, August, and September are the months when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year round. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Days 2: Masai Mara

After breakfast, a full day is spent game viewing across the rich, tree studded grassland and rolling hills. The famous Mara is renowned for its great herds of plain game, black-manned lions, leopard, and cheetah, but also contains numerous elephant and virtually every type of wildlife to be found in Kenya.

Lunch is served in the park at the Mara River, the border of Kenya and Tanzania and the scene for yearly wildebeest and zebra migration. Continue with your game drive covering the park into sections, then return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Masai Mara

Leave the camp after breakfast for a morning game drive in Masai Mara with an afternoon optional visit to the Masai villages. The famous Masai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve. Or you can also have a nature walk with Masai guides, and then return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Masai Mara - Nairobi

Early morning after a cup of coffee, you have an option to visit the Masai village before departing to Nairobi. In the Masai village, you will interact with the Maasai locals, gaining insights into their way of life and customs. Return to the camp for late breakfast, then depart to Nairobi, stopping sporadically for the breathtaking panoramic views of the Rift Valley and adjacent land forms. You will have lunch en route at Narok. The tour ends in Nairobi in the afternoon.

Location

This safari will take you from Nairobi to Masai Mara. Masai Mara National Reserve is Kenya's finest wildlife reserve. Everything about this reserve is outstanding. The wildlife is abundant and the gentle rolling grasslands ensure that animals are never out of sight.
