Ashnil Samburu Camp
Set in the spectacular backdrop of the Mighty Ol Olokwe mountain fronting Ewaso Nyiro River, Ashnil Samburu Camp is a luxury tented camp. It has 30 exclusive luxury tents spread out along the shady banks of the river under a thick stand of doum palms. It features an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by sun lounges, a garden, and a lounge bar offering views of the African savannah.
Each tent features a decked terrace with views of the Ewaso Nyiro River. The restaurant offers views of the river and serves a variety of menus comprising oriental, traditional, and international cuisines. A range of activities are available on request and comprise game drives, nature walks, a cultural visit to the Samburu Village, bush meals like bush lunch or dinner, and sundowners.

Program
Day 1: Nairobi - Samburu National Reserve
Meet and greet by a tour driver guide of Bencia Africa Adventure and Safaris for the start of the safari. Depart from Nairobi and drive north to Samburu National Reserve to arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive from 4:00 p.m. to dusk. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil Samburu Camp.
Day 2: Full day in Samburu National Reserve
This day will be spent exploring this amazing game reserve, with morning and afternoon game drives in search of the Samburu Five and other wildlife. Not only does Samburu Game Reserve host the renowned Big Five (lion, rhino, leopard, buffalo, elephant), it also accommodates what has come to be known as the Samburu Five. These animals are only found north of the equator in Samburu, Kenya, and Masai Steppe in Tanzania.
Reticulated giraffes, Reddish brown in color, have polygon patches drawn out in fine white lines. Long-necked gerenuks, this animal has an incredibly long neck and go for days, even years without water. Gravy’s zebras have a brown muzzle and white underbelly. Beisa oryx has fringed ears and black marks on its face and upper legs. Somali ostriches have blue necks and legs. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil Samburu Camp.
Day 3: Samburu National Reserve - Nairobi
On this day, you will have a morning game drive and return to the lodge for breakfast. Later check out and depart for Nairobi with a stopover on the way for lunch to arrive in Nairobi late afternoon. Drop off at the hotel to catch up with your flight back home or be dropped off at your hotel.
Location
This safari will take you from Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve. Samburu National Reserve is Kenya's finest wildlife reserve known for its' special five'. Everything about this reserve is outstanding. The wildlife is abundant and the gentle rolling grasslands ensure that animals are never out of sight. The reserve is a place of baked brown earth and parched vegetation, visit the Ewaso Ng'iro River which is surrounded by a permanent ribbon of green, with tamarinds, doum palms, and acacia which provide respite from the sweltering sun.
Watch elephants, buffaloes, and waterbucks frequent the woodland, and impala herds take shelter under the trees as Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, and gerenuk take a drink. Lion, leopard, and cheetah can also be found here, while, up above, martial eagles, bateleurs, and pygmy falcons patrol the skies.
