Embark on this amazing safari adventure into the wild of Tanzania and get up close and personal with East Africa's unique wildlife! During this safari, you will explore the uniqueness of the Ngorongoro Crater and the Lake Manyara National Park through exciting game drives. This safari is a great way to get in touch with nature and also the best chance to spot lions, elephants, rhinos, and buffaloes!
During this safari, you will stay in a shared room either at a camping site or a lodge. The first night will be spent in Ngorongoro and the second night will be spent in Lake Manyara. Please take note that safari tents do not have mosquito nets. Sleeping bags will be available for rental at 10 USD per day.
Standing high on the edge of a towering terracotta escarpment with panoramic views over the glittering alkaline waters of Lake Manyara, Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge offers a unique blend of safari opportunities, peace and tranquillity, wildlife discovery, and ornithological richness. The unprecedented range of high-adventure sports includes mountain biking, canoeing and forest walks, while cultural choices include tours of the neighboring villages and dance displays by the local Iraqw and Sukuma people.
Grouped around a central "vanishing horizon" pool, this highly unusual lodge features a simple timbered reception area, built in traditional African style, which is accessed via a bridge over a small stream. Beyond reception, lies the central dining room, bar, and veranda, below which lies the pool.
Perched on the very edge of the cliffs, with stunning views of Lake Manyara National Park, is the pool bar and observation point. Dotted around the grounds, all with views over the lake, are a series of circular two-storey "rondavels", which house the rooms.
Designed to reflect the brilliance of Lake Manyara's unique birdlife, the architectural motif melds swooping avian curves with the gentle concentric patterns of traditional Maasai "Bomas", while the vibrantly colored wall frescoes depict the colorful intricacy of bird migratory patterns.
Amongst its facilities, the lodge has a central dining room and bar, an outside dining, a poolside bar, a swimming pool and pool deck, a bush dinner site within the grounds, a tented conference room, a gift shop, a business center, free Wi-Fi, and a television with satellite programming. The lodge also has services such as wedding planning and a honeymoon venue, safari game drives daily, an extensive selection of sports and activities, and cultural dance and music.
Regularly voted one of the best hotels in the world, this unique lodge in Tanzania clings to the rim of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, the largest and most perfect volcanic crater on Earth. Long and low, the lodge is built from local river stone and camouflaged with indigenous vines. Designed to blend completely into the landscape, it is entirely invisible from the floor of the Crater 600 meters below.
Known as "the eighth wonder of the world", the Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa's best-known wildlife arenas. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it offers a unique biosphere, which has remained virtually unchanged since the dawn of time. Deep within the Crater, enclosed by towering walls, some 25,000 large mammals wander the plains, lakes, and forests of the land that time forgot, dominated by enormous bull elephants, rhinos, and lions.
Hugging the contours of the jagged crater rim, this luxury safari lodge takes its inspiration from the so-called "Cradle of Mankind", the prehistoric site of Olduvai Gorge, which lies close by. Linked by arched stone passages and timbered decks, its walls are decorated with stylized prehistoric cave paintings and lit by flaring torches. At the stone heart of the lodge burns a glowing fire, which is kept constantly alight.
Decorated with cave paintings, the rooms are strung around the crater rim. Each has its own rock- enclosed balcony, and all enjoy completely uninterrupted views of the volcanic amphitheater far below. The location, the service, and the luxury accommodation make of Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge the ultimate destination for a unique safari experience in Tanzania.
Among its facilities, the lodge has a rock built dining room and bar with central fire, extensive viewing terraces, game drives into the crater daily, wedding planning and honeymoon venue, a gift shop, a business center, free Wi-Fi, a tented conference center, an extensive selection of sports and activities, cultural dance and music, and a television with satellite programming.
Facing the always magnificent sunsets to the west and located at the highest point on Ngorongoro crater’s entire rim, Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge stands well over half a kilometer above the crater floor. This lodge offers unparalleled views across this enormous caldera.
Themed around traditionally circular African houses with conical roofs and decorated with examples of Africa’s rich tapestry of artistic traditions by way of rich woodcarvings and sculptures, the lodge harmonizes perfectly with its dramatic surroundings. But the drama does not just stop with the great outdoors, it also flows through the split level interiors of the main building.
The interiors offer an unsurpassed generosity of space while somehow managing to combine an almost magically welcoming ambiance of both warmth and coziness. Amongst its facilities, the lodge has hairdryers, telephone at reception, a gift shop, a swimming pool, free Wi-Fi in public areas, wheelchair accessible rooms, sundowners, and board games. The lodge offers services such as babysitting, laundry, outdoor dining, turndown service, and weddings.
