See the highlights of Northern Tanzania and Kenya in this awesome safari. Start off in Nairobi and make your way to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, famous for the wildebeest migration. Visit a Masai Village and travel to Arusha to visit Tarangire National Park and Ngorongoro, the world’s biggest crater, and experience the famous Serengeti National Park. Enjoy game drives and cross the border into Tanzania and explore the game parks known for their flamingos, hippos, and famous tree-climbing lions. Stop along the way at the “cradle of mankind” and stay in a stunning lodge or camp on the rim of a crater. If you wish to define an adventure, then this safari awaits you.
During this safari, you will be staying at various accommodations across Kenya and Tanzania. You may choose a budget or lodge package. For the budget package, you will stay in tents in the parks, a budget hotel in Arusha, and an eco-camp in Nairobi. Please note that safari tents do not have mosquito nets and sleeping bags can be hired for 10 USD per day.
For the lodge package, you will stay in medium-range or tented lodges in the parks, a budget hotel in Arusha, and an eco-camp in Nairobi. Please note that the accommodations during your safari will be rustic and typical of the region. Camping will be in mobile tents and the lodge accommodations will be a mixture of mid-range traditional lodges and tented lodges.

Wildebeest Camp is an oasis in Nairobi - simply the perfect place to relax during your African migration! The beautifully-appointed deluxe safari tents and other comfortable accommodation, will be a welcome place to stay before and after your safari.
You can enjoy the peaceful tropical gardens, which are home to hundreds of varieties of plants and birds, while still being close to shops, markets, cinemas, banks, Nairobi National Park and transport links.
It is an ideal environment for families with acres of space for children to safely explore, and a dedicated playground where they can burn some energy. For the less energetic, relax on the deck with a Kenyan coffee or cold Tusker beer or find a peaceful spot in the garden and curl up with a good book.
Mara Chui Resort is carefully engineered to blend with the Mara safari spirit. Overlooking the Inguetat Hills and tacked under ancient trees, are just 35 units accommodating a minimum of 70 guests. The units were literally planted within the wood land and not a single tree was felled.
Located high on the slopes of the Oloolaimutia Hills, the Maasai Mara Sopa Lodge was one of the first safari lodges to be built in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, a reason why its gardens and trees are so lush and mature. The lodge has 50 guest cottages divided into two wings to either side of the main public areas. Tortilis Camp has a prime location for witnessing the majesty of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. It is named after the flat-topped, umbrella thorn tree, the Acacia Tortilis, and embraces a hill in one of Amboseli’s areas of Acacia Tortilis woodland.
Located in a private conservancy bordering the national park, game drives, walks, sundowners, and bush meals take place both inside the national park and in the conservancy, where guests enjoy exclusivity.
The tents are all spacious, with king or twin beds and elegant en suite bathrooms. There is a main lounge, bar and dining area, all exquisitely built with natural materials and thatched roofs, with magnificent views of Kilimanjaro. The Private House and Family Tent are located slightly separate to the main camp, upon the hill where they share a pool and enjoy magnificent views of Kilimanjaro.
Tortilis Camp was one of the first eco-lodges of its size, and is very proudly 100% solar. Guests can rest assure they are leaving a minimal footprint during their stay.
Simba Campsite lies on the very rim of Ngorongoro Crater and has an excellent view across the caldera. A fantastic sunrise over the crater rim opposite makes a fine breakfast scene. Often there are elephants wandering around the camp! This campsite is guarded. Tents have mats and bathrooms are outside of the tent. Facilities at Simba Campsite are basic but this is more than made up for by the atmosphere of this camp in the clouds.
Ideally located on the edge of the Ngorongoro crater rim, Rhino Lodge offers a perfect base from which to explore the Ngorongoro Crater and its surroundings.
After 21.00 the generator is switched off and a limited amount of electricity is available from our storage batteries for lighting. After dark please be careful and never walk around the grounds unless you are accompanied by a member of our staff. One of our Askaris (watchmen) will accompany you to and from the dining room. They are also on duty throughout the night should you require assistance.
On day one, you will be picked up at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) upon arrival and transferred to a tented camp where you will get settled in and make last minute arrangements for your exciting safari adventure ahead. You will stay overnight at Wildebeest Eco Camp or similar accommodations.
You will be picked from your hotel at 8:30 a.m. for a journey south along the floor of the dramatic Great Rift Valley to Maasai Mara National Reserve, an extension of Tanzania's Serengeti National Park, also known as the Seventh Wonder of the World because of the Great Migration.
The migration is witnessed every year between June and September when millions of wildebeests and zebras cross the Mara River from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to Maasai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya in search of food and water. It is famous for its wide variety of resident wildlife all year round.
With lunch at Narok Town, you will arrive in Maasai Mara National Reserve in time for an afternoon game drive where you may have a chance of seeing the Big Five, different varieties of birdlife, and the best savanna vegetation in the world. It is a serene and vast country of breathtaking vistas, a panorama of vast rolling plains and rounded hills, of intermittent groves of acacia woodlands, and dense thickets of scrub.
The Mara River and its tributaries, which are margined by luxuriant riverine forest, bisect the whole land. The famous Maasai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve. In every direction, there are seemingly endless herds of game animals. You will return to your accommodation for dinner and the overnight stay.
For the budget package, you will be staying at Mara Chui Camp. For the lodge package, you will be staying at Mara Sopa Lodge or similar accommodations. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served.
You will have full-day drives to absorb the beauty and splendor of the Mara. In the country of breathtaking vistas, view its vast assemblages of plains game together with their associated predators. Mara has the largest population of lions to be found in Kenya. Other animals to be seen there include the buffalo, Black rhino, hippopotamus, leopard, cheetah, common Zebra, Coke's hartebeest, White-bearded gnu, Oribi, warthog, and Thomson's and Grant's gazelles.
The bird life of the Mara is as profuse as its mammalian fauna. Have a picnic lunch in the Mara River where you can enjoy your lunch box while watching crocodiles and hippos laze around in their natural habitat. That is a great way to take advantage of your time in the park and enjoy seeing the views below and all around you. After lunch, continue your game drive in search for more wildlife.
You will be dropped off back at the Maasai village at 5:00 p.m. for an opportunity to visit the Maasai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. Upon arrival at the village, proceed for a nature walk with the Maasai naturalist guide. You will get to see herbs that are used as medication among the Maasai.
Return to the village where a campfire will be lit. There will be entertainment from the women, children, and men of the village, followed with a chance for you to join in their dancing. The chief will then give you stories of their culture and tradition. They will show you how the herbs seen during the nature walk are prepared and used.
You will also have a glimpse into their homes and social structure. Dinner will be served at the village followed by coffee and tea as you leave to return to the camp for the overnight stay. Breakfast and lunch will also be provided on day three. For the budget package, you will stay overnight in Mara Chui Camp. For the lodge package, it will be in Mara Sopa Lodge or similar accommodations. On the third night, you will have the option to choose to sleep in an authentic Maasai-style home with beds, located at the campsite and subject to availability.
Embark on your last game drive in the park in the morning before breakfast and catch a glimpse of the last animals you will see in the Maasai Mara Reserve. Breakfast will be served back at your accommodation and then, you will depart for your leisurely drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon. You will be dropped off at your tented camp to rest up.
In the evening, you will be picked up and transferred to the iconic Carnivore Restaurant for a delicious dinner of various game meats including that of the crocodile, ostrich, buffalo, and ox among more basic chicken, pork, and beef options. You will stay overnight at Wildebeest Eco Camp or similar accommodations. Lunch will also be served on day four.
On day five, you will take a bus from Nairobi to Arusha in the morning, crossing the border from Kenya to Tanzania along the way. Upon arrival, you will be picked up at the bus station and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. You will have the rest of the day at leisure to relax, walk around town, and make last-minute preparations for your upcoming safari adventure. Dinner is included in the evening. You will stay overnight in Mc-Ellys Hotel or similar accommodations. Breakfast will also be served on day five.
In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, which is known for its huge baobab trees and large herds of elephants. Its sparse vegetation makes it a beautiful and special location, where up to 300 elephants can be found, looking for underground streams in the dry riverbeds. Migratory wildebeest, zebra and buffalo can also be seen crowding the shrinking lagoons. Here you will enjoy an afternoon game drive with a picnic lunch.
Today you drive to one of the most famous game parks in Africa, the Serengeti! Known to host one of the most amazing wildlife spectacles on earth – the great migration of wildebeest and zebra – the Serengeti’s vast plains are also home to a haven of other wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, leopards and many other predators.
Enjoy views from the top of the gorge or opt to enter the historical site for an extra fee. You will also make a stop at a Maasai village and pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area which was created to accommodate the needs of the Maasai people and which tests the idea that humans leading a pastoral lifestyle can coexist with wildlife.
Finally, you will enter the park and head to your lodge or camp in the heart of the Serengeti for dinner. For the budget package, you will stay overnight at Pimbi Camp. For the lodge package, you will be staying at Seronera Lodge or similar. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served on day seven.
This morning, after enjoying a beautiful Serengeti sunrise, you’ll catch a glimpse of lions and other predators on their morning hunt during your first game drive. After brunch, you’ll then leave the park and go for the final game drive of the day while on your way to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa's seven natural wonders! Before dinner is served, enjoy awesome views of the crater below.
Today you’ll rise early in the morning to descend the 600m high walls to the floor of the crater and get up close with one of Africa's seven natural wonders! Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is considered one of the most beautiful and unique places in Africa. Here you will find a haven of African wildlife and you might also be lucky enough to witness the endangered Rhino! Enjoy a game drive and brunch by the hippo pool before driving back to Moshi, Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport.
On day 10, you will say goodbye to Kenya and Tanzania as you check out of your accommodation to be transferred to the airport in time to catch your flight with incredible memories of an unparalleled experience in Africa. The team will wish you a safe journey for your onward travels. Breakfast will be served on day 10.
