During this safari, you will spend one night at the Panari Hotel, two nights at The Kiboko Bay Resort, three nights at Hammerkop Migration Camp (a sustainable eco-camp with waste management policy to protect the environment), two nights at Domel Wilderness Camp, one night at Olea Africana Lodge, and the last night at Silver Palm Hotel.

Program

Day 1: Arrival Nairobi - Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) (Kenya)

On arrival in Nairobi, you will be met and greeted by the representative who will offer all the necessary assistance that you will need on arrival. You will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. A welcome complimentary dinner will be offered at the famous Carnivore Restaurant this evening.

Day 2: Nairobi - Kisumu (Lake Victoria) (Kenya)

In the morning, you will be transferred from your hotel to the airport to board a morning flight from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) to Kisumu International Airport (KIS). On arrival in Kisumu, you will be met and transfer to check in at your hotel. After lunch, you will visit the Impala Sanctuary and the famous Hippo point on the shores of the Lake Victoria. The Hippo point is an open viewing point for Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest freshwater lake. At Hippo point, you can choose to do a boat trip on Lake Victoria (Optional at an extra cost). You can also choose to do a glass-bottomed boat ride at the Sanctuary (optional at an extra cost).

Day 3: Ndere Island National Park (Kenya)

This day, you will be a full day of adventure walking, bird watching, scenic, and hiking on Ndere Island. This is the only park where you walking game watching with a professional tour guide. Ndere Island National Park is referred to as “The Island of Serenity and Beauty!” It is a haven for birds. This is one of the most beautiful islands surrounding Lake Victoria. It is a “hidden treasure” on Lake Victoria. It is dominated with grassy hills and beautiful views of the Island and Lake Victoria.

Ndere is often called the home of the Nile crocodiles. Nderes ecological footprint includes wooded hills and tall grass, wildlife species, etc. The true jewel of this island and primary attraction are the “Crocs” aka The Crocs of Ndere! Learn about the coexistence of Crocs of Ndere and Hippos and see them co-exist basking in the sun with Hippos. You will take a boat ride to the island. In the evening full of exciting memories, you will drive back to your hotel.

Day 4: Kisumu - Maasai Mara National Reserve (Kenya)

Early in the morning, you will depart Kisumu and drive to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Maasai Mara National Reserve is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Kenya, Africa. The Reserve is located in the Great Rift Valley in open grassland. Maasai Mara is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s Wildlife viewing areas. 95 species of mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and over 400 species of birds have been recorded in this park. In Maasai Mara, you will hardly miss seeing the Big Five.

The annual wildebeest migration takes place in this park between July and October. The ecosystem of Maasai Mara holds one of the highest lion densities in the world and this is where over two million wildebeest, zebras, and Thomson's gazelle migrate every year. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant than in Maasai Mara. Morning and afternoon game drives are what will take the day today. Do not miss the encounter of any of the Big Five! Hammerkop Camp is a sustainable eco-camp with waste management policy to protect the environment.

Day 5: Maasai Mara National Reserve - Maasai village visit (Kenya)

The Maasai tribe is one of the most authentic ethnic tribes of Kenya. With a rich cultural background, the Maasai have maintained their rich culture despite all the western influences, civilization, education, etc. They have clung to their rich way the traditional way of life which has made them a symbol of Kenyan culture. You will spend this day engaging in activities of this rich culture and learning why and how this community has maintained their rich cultural heritage. Song and dance the Maasai way will welcome you to this community. A tour of the village and to understand and be part of the activities they engage in for economic empowerment.

Take the traditional jump together with the morans and see how far you can go! Understand how the warrior is of great importance to this community, how does the transition from a moran to a warrior, what is his responsibility in the community, who mentors him from one level to another, etc. In the midst of these warriors, you will be taken through the elaborate “Eunoto” ceremony - a ceremony performed to transition the morans to warriors! Enjoy by being engaged in the details of this ceremony, be part of the preparations for this ceremony and realize the beauty of diverse culture. Visit a village school in this community and be part of their learning today and share meaningful moments with the children and the community at large. In the late afternoon, return to your camp carrying beautiful memories of this day!

Day 6: Maasai Mara National Reserve (Kenya)

This day, you have a full day to spend on just enjoying game viewing in Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Early in the morning on this day, you have an option doing a hot air balloon safari + champagne breakfast (optional at an extra cost).

Day 7: Maasai Mara - Isebania / Serengeti National Park (Tanzania)

After early breakfast with your picnic lunch, you will depart Maasai Mara Game Reserve and drive to Isebania - Kenya / Tanzania border town. On arrival at Isebania, you will be picked up with Asaray Tours LTD’s driver guide and you will drive to Serengeti National Park, the Serengeti National Park - with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eyes can see. You head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species.

Day 8: Serengeti National Park (Tanzania)

You will have another full day in this wonderful park, rising early to make the most of your time. Your guides will choose the best spotting locations for the time of year; you can spend time at the Hippo pool watching these majestic animals laze about in the cool water happily living alongside the crocodiles, watch a big pride of lions, be in the middle of the migration, sometimes surrounded by wildebeest, sometimes by zebras, which travel with the wildebeest.

This diverse and interesting landscape will provide you with the ultimate in game viewing, you will hopefully see all of the plain games; elephants, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, lions, and if you are lucky, the elusive leopard and cheetah, as well as huge amounts of interesting birdlife, from the elegant secretary birds to the flightless ostrich.

Day 9: Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater (Tanzania)

After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro and on arrival, you descend into the magnificent crater for a half-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s biggest whole volcanic caldera at 8300 square kilometers and is arguably the most stunning arena. It is frequently described as one of the wonders of the world, not only because of its geological magnificence but also because it serves as an extraordinary natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s largest populations of large mammals.

Another big draw card to this picturesque park is the dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot.

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater - Lake Manyara National Park (Tanzania)

Breakfast at the lodge and then you will depart to Lake Manyara National Park. This impressive park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas. Also, this park is beautiful with the main attraction of tree climbing lions, its elephant, and hippos that you can see at closer range than most other places. Lake Manyara is an alkaline lake and at certain times of the year hosts thousands of flamingoes and a diversity of other bird’s life. The lake and its environment are also home to herbivores such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs, and giraffes. Also, the Rift Valley escarpment forms a noteworthy landmark and provides a spectacular backdrop to Lake Manyara.

Day 11: Lake Manyara National Park / Arusha / Namanga - Nairobi (Kenya)

After breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to Namanga border where you will be picked up to Kenya. You will arrive in Nairobi with a full of lasting safari memories! In Nairobi time allowing, Asaray Tours LTD will offer you a souvenir shopping adventure at the Kazuri beads. Kazuri bead is a center empowering single women economically by engaging them to do beadwork and pottery thus sustaining their livelihoods and empowering them economically. Get “a bead for every mood!” After which Asaray Tours LTD will transfer you to your own onward plans.

Location

This safari will take place in Kenya and Tanzania. This safari takes you to the beauty of Ndere Island National Reserve. Ndere means “meeting place”. Notable fauna associated with this island include African fish eagles, hippos, and Nile crocodiles. Exciting to see how they cohabit! Besides, encountering Maasai Mara National Reserve and Serengeti National Park offers you the biggest animal definition in Africa! These two are the jewels of Africa's adventure. Ngorongoro Crater, the world's biggest whole volcanic caldera, is arguably the most stunning arena! The last is Lake Manyara National Park which is beautiful and known for its tree-climbing lions!

Food

You will be served three meals a day (full-board) while on safari. However, you will only get a half-board basis on the first night at Domel Wilderness Camp and get breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi. You can also enjoy a complimentary welcome dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant. Water is available in the vehicle to use while on game drives.
