Throughout the tour, you will be accommodated in one of Amazônia Expeditions ships Iracema, Dorinha or Amaznica. The price quoted is on a double cabin. For single cabin, a 35% should be added to the price. Children up to 5 years old are free of charge; children up to 12 years old have 40% discount. Children under 12 can only join the trip if one of the parents or a responsible guardian is on the trip.


Departure and arrival information

Place of departure and arrival: Hangar Pier of the Tropical Hotel in Manaus (Av. Coronel Teixeira, 1320 - Ponta Negra)

Meeting point: 09:00 a.m. at the Tropical Hotel Lobby. The cruise arrives in Manaus around 01:00 p.m.

Day 1: Meet-up and start of tour

  • Leave Tropical Hotel at 09:00 a.m. heading straight to the Meeting of the Waters
  • 11:00 a.m.: Meeting of the Waters one of the most beautiful natural phenomena in the Amazon. The factors that cause it to happen in the region go from geological, climatic, and thermal reasons to even size and acidity of the waters).
  • 11:30 a.m.: Visit to the Pirarucu Farm (Fazenda de Pirarucu do Alemão - it contains one of the biggest sweet water fish in Brazil, which can go from 3 meters and reach up to 200kg).
  • Navigation towards Janauari Lake (9000 hectares) - a great option for touring the flooded forest, called “igapó”. Perfect for who wants to see some typical species of vegetation in the Amazon, like flower lilies - Victoria Amazonica.
  • 02:30 p.m.: Canoe tour on Janauari Lake
  • After dinner, you go on a canoe ride for a night explore, where you will be able to see and definitely hear the Amazon wildlife
  • Note: During the months of October to November, Amazônia Expeditions change Janauary Park for a jungle walk - flooded forest and Igapó now dry season and low river water level - walk until a pound with water lilies

Day 2: Canoe tour on Janauaca Lake

  • 05:30 a.m. until 07:00 a.m.: Canoe tour on Janauaca Lake to appreciate and identify the morning sounds of birds, monkeys and other animals that wake up along with the sun. The scenery of floating houses and rich vegetation, the lake looks heavenly!
  • 08:30: Visit to one of the region’s native families. Here, you’ll learn about their lifestyle, seeing native plants - and also plants that are not native that grow in the area - and how they are used to provide food and income for their subsistence.
  • After you leave anchor you leave the Janauaca Lake, passing by Manaus and you sail up Rio Negro, your next destination.

Day 3: Rio Negro

  • 08:00 a.m.: You will have a jungle walk. You’ll have the opportunity to see a different type of forest - Terra Firme - a higher ground that never floods. Its vegetation can reach up to 60 meters high.
  • After the walking activity, you sail up to Rio Cuieras
  • In their afternoon visit an indigenous community called Nova Esperança (Baré ethnicity). A great chance to know better about the recent changes in the communities after colonization and also play a fun game of soccer with the local people!
  • After the visit, further navigation on the Cuieras River will take place. You stop tonight for a fun dinner ashore with singing along and bonfire by a typical straw hut.

Day 4: Jarada Lake

  • Early morning tour in the region of the Jarada Lake, for an incredible view of the area, which is filled with trails in between the flooded trees, besides the riptides (depending on the season) and a wonderful view of dead trees reflected on the mirror black waters
  • Still this morning, a jungle walk to visit “campina” (desert like area in the middle of the jungle) where you can find bromeliads, orchids and many other types of epiphyte plants. Research indicates that “campinas” area was used to be habited by pre-Colombian people and this area never recovered.
  • This afternoon you are visiting one of the biggest river archipelago in the world, the Anavilhanas National Park.
  • Canoe tour in the Anavilhanas islands with a good opportunity to spot macaws, parrots, toucans and other beautiful birds.
  • After dinner, a canoe tour through the islands, one of the most exciting night experience.

Day 5: Praia Grande

  • Depending on the season, either a canoe trip or a jungle walk to spot a very interesting dancing bird (wire-tailed manakin)
  • You now travel down the islands and by 3 p.m. you stop by a riverside beach - Praia Grande for the rest of the afternoon for a beach comb and swimming. Tonight you’ll have here a barbecue for your farewell dinner.

Day 6: Ariaú River

  • Early morning tour on the Ariaú River where you expect to hear and see more than one species of primate like the howler monkeys.
  • After breakfast, you go to a floating platform to interact with pink dolphins.
  • 03:00 p.m.: You will visit Tarianos, Dessanos and Tuiucas Indians for a wonderful cultural presentation.

Day 7: End of tour

  • Leave the boat after breakfast for a visit to Museu does Seringal Vila Paraíso (a rubber boom time museum), and then disembark after lunch.


Starting off and ending at Manaus, this tour will take you through Meeting of the Waters, Pirarucu Farm, Janauari Lake, Janauaca Lake, Rio Negro, Rio Cuieras, Jarada Lake, Praia Grande, Ariaú River, and Museu does Seringal Vila Paraíso.


Full board meals are included in the price. All the meals plus mineral water, soft drinks, coffee and tea - breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner will be provided together with fresh juices during breakfast.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Manaus International Airport-Eduardo Gomes (MAO). Transfer from and to the airport is not included.
