Amazon Travel Tours invites you to travel with them into the wilds of Yasuni Biosphere Reserve in Ecuador. There get a chance to spot different species such as squirrel monkeys, howler monkeys, species of birds - oropendolas, parrots, toucans, cormorant, cacique, tapir, peccaries etc. This is a privileged area, full of exuberant flora and fauna species and also home to an indigenous tribe!
During this safari, you will be staying in a private cabin with private bathroom at the Yasuni Pilchi Lodge.
Leaving the city of Coca at 9 a.m., arriving at Pilchi Lodge at 12 p.m. After a welcome cocktail, you’ll get settled in your cabin. At 1 p.m. you will have lunch. After 3 p.m. get ready to go for a walk in the jungle to an animal reserve inside the Yasuni Reserve Biosphere, where you will feel the intimate contact of the Amazon rainforest and where you will find parrots, toucans, and some species of monkeys. During the trek, you might find with some lucksahinos or tapir. On the way back to the lodge, you will have the opportunity to experience the nocturnal world of rodents, reptiles, amphibians etc. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
At 5:30 a.m. the breakfast will be ready after you will visit a parrot saladero located on the banks of Napo river where flocks of parrots come to eat the salty mineral. This activity is usually successful depending on the weather. After a short easy 25-minute walk you will visit a 45 meters high tower, from here you can see some species of birds or monkeys. You will also visit another amazing parrot saladero where, in certain seasons, you can see up to 11 species of parrots. Here you will have the time - and the perfect opportunity - to take as many pictures as you like. After the tower, you will return to the lodge to have lunch. At around 3 p.m. you will go to a beach in Napo River to bathe and enjoy the beautiful Yasuni sunset. At 5:30 p.m you will return to the lodge, dinner, and rest.
The breakfast will be ready at 7 a.m. At 8:30 a.m., you’ll go in a canoe ride to YakuKawasay (the underwater world) a place where you will be able to see wood carvings, after this visit you will return for lunch. During the afternoon, you will take a 45-minute walk to reach the lagoon of Mandi Cocha where you will see exotic birds and howler monkeys. During the night (depending on the weather), you will go to an alligator watching. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Breakfast will be at 7:30 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., you will visit a Kichwa community to learn about their culture, customs, and traditions (this visit is optional). Finally, you will go back to the city of Coca, arriving at 3.30 p.m.. End of services.
]%Pilchi community is located 64 kilometers from the city of Coca, about 2.5 to 3 hours of navigation down the Napo river. It limits the Orellana and Sucumbios Province and two protected areas: The Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve and the Yasuni Biosphere Reserve.
Located right in the buffer zone, just 500 meters from these important reserves, it is a privileged area, full of exuberant flora and fauna. It is also the home to the Kichwas, an indigenous culture.
During the excursion in the Yasuni Biosphere Reserve, you can run into different species like squirrel monkeys, howler monkeys; birds like the golden oriole, parrots, toucans, cormorants, cacique and more. Sail in the enchanted lagoon of Mandi Cocha and see the black cayman, relieve ancestral legends and experience life.
This safari includes all meals.
On the last day, you can visit the Kichwa community and witness and learn bout their indigenous culture.
