While sailing, it is mandatory to wear the life jacket.

The schedule will be provided by your guide, which will not necessarily coincide with the program contracted by you, since it will depend mainly on the weather conditions. Amazon Garden Eco Lodge ask their passengers to read their itinerary according to the contracted program. If you do not wish to do an activity, your guide should be informed in advance. When following the excursions you should consider the following:

  • Follow your guide, especially the paths marked by him
  • Do not disturb or remove native plants or animals
  • Do not access the offer of sale of animals or take pictures with them by the settlers of communities
  • Do not take food on walks
  • Do not smoke or throw trash during walks or in the river
  • Amazon Garden Eco Lodge reserves the right to modify itineraries due to weather conditions, technical reasons for boats, and changes in air flights

Location

Iquitos is the largest city in this rain forest region. The architecture surrounding its main square, Plaza de Armas, the Gothic and Baroque-style buildings in the city’s historic downtown, and the promenade along the Itaya River all recall the boom times of yesteryear in the city, which has retained its beauty and now serves as a hub for visitors traveling to and from other parts of the Amazon region.

In the city of Iquitos you can find handicrafts of the jungle tribes, as well as enjoy excellent regional cuisine, typical drinks, a city of hectic life and great nightlife, or sessions with shamans using Ayahuasca. There is great diffusion of folk medicine and curanderismo based on the great amount of medicinal plants that exist.
