Accommodation

During your stay, you will spend three nights in standard twin sharing accommodation in Kathmandu, two nights in standard twin sharing accommodation in Pokhara, and two nights on a wildlife safari in a Chitwan accommodation.

Program

Traveling from Kathmandu, you will visit numerous temples, monasteries, and palaces, many of them included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. You will also experience some of the oldest cultural ceremonies in the ancient valleys. Then you will head to the beautiful Himalayas around Pokhara Lake.

Do not be fooled by the beauty of the city. To add excitement, Pokhara also offers unique opportunities for boating, gliding, zip-lining, and biking. You will then visit Chitwan and experience an elephant safari in Chitwan National Park. You will also see the cultural performances of the Tharu community at night. The trip finishes after you return back to Kathmandu.

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a company representative who will drop you off at your hotel. After checking in, take a rest or visit Amazing Nepal's office. You may also stroll in the streets of Thamel, a tourist hub in Kathmandu for some souvenir shopping.

In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by Amazing Nepal Trek & Expedition. For dinner, you will be served excellent Nepalese cuisine which will introduce you to the country's authentic food culture. If your flight arrives late, both the meeting and dinner can be scheduled for the following day. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing

After breakfast, you will set out for sightseeing of the culturally and architecturally rich heritage sites of the valley. Places such as the Pashupatinath, the world famous temple precinct of the Hindus, the Boudhnath and Swaymbhunath, the world famous Buddhist stupa precinct, and Kathmandu Durbar Square will open up completely a new cultural world of Nepali art and architecture to you. You will also be taken to the Kumari Ghar where resides the Virgin Goddess. You will also discuss the trip. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Kathmandu - Pokhara by private transport (200 kilometers / 124 miles, five to six hours drive)

After breakfast, drive to Pokhara through countryside picturesque landscapes and following the downstream of Trishuli River, a famous river rafting to family travelers and beginners. Arrive in Pokhara and transfer to your lakeside hotel. In the afternoon, stroll through lake city Pokhara and in the evening have a boating experience on Phewa Lake, followed by sunset at Annapurna Himalayan Range and a Pooja ceremony at Hindu goddess' Tal Barahi Temple. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 4: Full day Pokhara excursion

After breakfast, your day tour exceeds exploring Davi’s Waterfall, Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, a Tibetan refugee camp, a historical museum, and an international mountaineering museum. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 5: Annapurna sunrise and drive to Chitwan (155 kilometers / 96 miles, four to five hours drive)

You will have a morning drive to Sarankot for Annapurna sunrise and tranquility view of Annapurna Himalayan Range. After breakfast, drive to Chitwan National Park, one of Asia's best preserved natural habitats of great one-horned rhinoceros, Royal Bengal tigers, and many other endangered species of mammals, birds, and aquatic animals. After a refreshment, take a short walking tour to the village of Tharu aboriginal people whose lifestyle remains unchanged over the century. Overnight in Chitwan.

Day 6: Full day jungle activities

After breakfast, you will set out on a dugout canoe on the Rapti River to watch the aquatic birds. If luck favors you, you will get to see one of the endangered species of crocodiles - Gharial. The boat ride lasts for 30 minutes and you will visit the elephant breeding camp where you will have a chance to play with the young elephant babies.

After the canoe trip, interested people can take a jungle walk tour that lasts for three hours, option that can be arranged in advance. It's a complete jungle walk trek on foot, guided by experienced jungle guides and shikaris. Return to the hotel in the afternoon.

After lunch, you will again go to explore the flora and fauna of the park. Great one-horned rhinoceros are the unmistakable sight. Other animals commonly seen are the sambar, spotted deer, and wild boars. Overnight in Chitwan.

Day 7: Chitwan - Kathmandu (170 kilometers / 105 miles, four to five hours drive)

In the early morning, you will take a bird watching trip guided by your experienced and qualified birdwatcher guides. Chitwan National Park, habitat for more than 500 different species of resident and migratory birds, is a haven for bird watchers. Return to the hotel for breakfast, then drive back to Kathmandu through the upstream of Trishuli River with terraced fields and hamlets. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 8: Final departure

You will be transferred at the Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM).

Note: The best time to visit is from March to May and September to December.
