Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is a home to more than half of the mountain gorilla’s population in the world. This trip takes you on a journey from Kigali in Rwanda to Bwindi through the Katuna border then to the beautiful sceneries of Kigezi highlands in Uganda and finally to Ruhija sector of Bwindi Forest. You will have a chance to have the Batwa tribe encounter that will spice up the trip as you learn how they used to live with the gorillas in the forest.

Program
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali, Rwanda to Bwindi National Park and Batwa tribe encounter
You will be welcomed by a representative from Alps Trendy Safaris on your arrival at Kigali international airport or at your hotel within Kigali city. You will be briefed by your driver guide then start your journey to the Bwindi home of gorillas.
On the road, you will have an opportunity to tour the city of Kigali and important sites like the Kigali genocide memorial centre. You will then embark on the 4 hours' drive to Bwindi through the Katuna (Uganda – Rwanda border). After Katuna, you will head to the Ruhija sector of Bwindi Forest Park. This journey will give you an opportunity to see the beautiful countryside and landscapes in both countries.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and transfer back to Kigali city or airport
On this day of your trip, you will wake up very early and have breakfast and then be picked up by your guide and proceed to the park office. You will be briefed and given information regarding trekking gorillas in Bwindi and all the information you need for the day. You will be assigned a gorilla group and with your packed lunch, get in the jungle for gorilla trekking. This will take between 2 to 6 hours or more depending on the location of your assigned gorilla family on that particular day. Once you spot the gorillas, take as many photos as you can and try to follow instructions from the head guide and spend one full hour with them.
After completing the trek, come back to your hotel and check out. Thereafter, the guide will take you back to Kigali international airport or your hotel as it marks the end of your trip.
