You will be in a country at the top of the world and you should not miss the opportunity of viewing the grand views of glistening mountain panorama.
On your first three nights, you will stay in Alpine Hotel and Apartment. For the rest of the nights, you will stay in the Hotel Rainforest. This trip is designed for shared accommodation and does not involve a single supplement. Single travellers joining group trips are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) where you will be warmly welcomed by Alpine Club of Himalaya's representative and check in to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore this historic and vibrant city.
After breakfast, you will depart the hotel for a full-day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, the "City of Glory". You will visit Durbar Square, the epicenter of religious and cultural life, an area filled with old temples and historical significance with old glorious Newari architecture. Some of the sights include Kal Bhairav, Hanuman Dhoka, Taleju Temple, Kasthamandap, and Kumari Ghar; home to the Living Goddess.
Afterwards, you will visit Swoyambhunath Stupa, said to be one of the oldest Buddhist stupas in the world, which is majestically set high on a hill overlooking Kathmandu Valley. You will proceed towards Pashupatinath Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This massive temple complex sits alongside the banks of the holy Bagmati River.
Only Hindus are allowed to enter the courtyard of the temple, whereas tourists can see the temple from the eastern side of the Bagmati River. Later you will visit Boudhanath, a Buddhist Stupa said to be one of the largest in the world. This massive structure stands tall with four pairs of eyes each facing the four cardinal directions, watching for the righteous behaviour of mankind and for human prosperity.
After breakfast, you will go to see the deep, narrow gorge of roaring Seti River from where you will drive to Devi’s Falls and further to Gupteswar Cave and the Bat Cave. In the evening, you will go lazing by the Phewa Lake for the leisurely row in its sparkling waters.
After breakfast, you will drive 41 kilometers / 25 miles to Nayapul for the start of your ABC trek. A steep trail from Nayapul will direct you down to a bridge over a small stream to get to Birethanti (1,030 meters / 3, 345 feet), a large and prosperous village.
From Birethanti, you will take the left branch of the trail and follow through main streets and wind through bamboo forests and past a large waterfall and swimming hole, you will reach Sudami beyond a pasture used by caravans. You will climb steadily up the side of the valley to reach Hille and about 15 minutes above Hille is Tikhedhunga.
This is a four to six hours trek which starts crossing the Tikhedhunga Khola on a suspension bridge then drops and crosses the Bhurungdi Khola on a large bridge at 1,520 meters.
The trail climbs very steeply on a stone staircase that is said to have more than 3,300 steps which continue to the large Magar village of Ulleri (2,080 meters) and climbing gently through the pastures and cultivated fields the trail make its way to deep forests to reach a hamlet of Banthanti.
Crossing the magnificent oak and rhododendron forests, the trail passes through two sparkling clear streams, a small ridge and another stream before making final climb to another Magar village of Nangathanti (2,460 meters).
About an hour past this village, you will reach Ghorepani where you can see eight different species of Nepal’s national flower, Rhododendron in the hillsides below Ghorepani.
After about hours of climb in the early morning, you will reach Poon Hill which is a viewpoint for the spectacular Himalayan panorama extending from Dhaulagiri to Annapurna to Machhapuchhre.
It stretches from Dhaulagiri I (8,167 meters) and Tukuche (6,920 meters) to Nilgiri (6,940 meters), Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8,091 meters), Hiunchuli (6,441 meters), and Tarke Kang (7,193 meters). You will return to Ghorepani for the night stay.

For watching wildlife, birds, and the rare species of flora and fauna, you can either go for jungle safari deep into the park in a four-wheel jeep or on a walk or choose an altogether relaxing way on a canoeing trip on the Rapti or Narayani Rivers. Moreover, you can head for exploring the surrounding Tharu villages.
You will drive along the Trisuli River back to Kathmandu.
This trip operates at altitudes over 2,780 meters (maximum altitude 5,545 meters). In this itinerary, you do not have many acclimatizing days, so you may experience headaches, nausea, and lethargy on arrival in Namche Bazaar, 3,420 meters. It is important to be aware of the effects of altitude on one's tolerance especially in going high to Namche.
All Alpine Club of Himalaya trips are accompanied by one of the local Sherpa leaders who speaks excellent English. He / she will provide information on the places you are travelling through, deal with health and safety issues and introduce to the local porters and villagers. As a local leader, he / she has more specific knowledge to explain historical, cultural, religious, and social aspects.
When you travel in a group, there are people from around the world of different ages who are multilingual, multicultural, and multiracial. You are requested to understand the benefits and maybe some of the frustrations of travelling in a group.
Alpine Club of Himalaya has found time and time again that the very best trips they operate are those where the dynamics within the group work well, this takes just a little effort on your part.
This tour will take place in Nepal. Nepal is a small, landlocked country, 800 kilometers long and 200 kilometers wide making a total land area of 147,181 square kilometers. The landscape soars from just 150 meters above sea level to 8,848 meters at the top of Mt. Everest. Nepal covers only 0.1% of the world's surface area but is home to 8% of the world's species of birds, including 72 critically endangered species.
Nepal's location between India and Tibet, the diversity of its 60 or more ethnic groups, its isolating geography and myriad languages have resulted in a complex pattern of customs and beliefs. The dominant Nepali cultural concepts are those of caste and status, both of which contribute to a strictly defined system of hierarchy.
Caste determines a person's status and marriage partner. Nepal sweeps you along crooked, ancient streets flanked by dazzling, multi-roofed pagodas, gold-topped stupas and arcane stone sculptures, and into low-ceilinged rooms cluttered with horror-eyed masks, spinning prayer wheels, Buddhist thangka scrolls and Tibetan carpets.
Either it is muttered chants of Buddhists monks in a monastery or an early morning worship of Kathmandu's housewife in local temples, it is believed that the divine is everywhere. In Nepal, Hinduism, and Buddhism is mingled wonderfully into a complex, syncretic blend like nowhere else.
The price includes ten breakfasts, five lunches, seven dinners as well as tea or coffee during your treks. Welcome breakfast and farewell dinner are in Kathmandu hotels. Foods are provided on in a tea house or guest house in the mountain.
There is a variety of choice of local meal as well as continental even pizza and sizzler. Alpine Club of Himalaya also gives more eating flexibility, groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company.
Your leader will be able to suggest favorite restaurants during your trip. Included breakfasts will usually be Asian style consisting of noodles or congee (rice porridge) or bread, hash brown, and eggs of any style.
A wide range of vegetarian foods is found, although, in some places, choices are limited. While trekking in remote regions, food will be served plentiful and made of fresh local ingredients.
You will be provided with an hour message for free in Kathmandu.
