Yes you most certainly will! Tanzania is home to the famous Big Five of Africa – the lion, elephant, black rhinoceros, leopard, and Cape buffalo.
The best place to experience the Great Migration in Tanzania is at the Serengeti Plains, where you will be able to observe large populations of wildebeest. The two best times to visit the Serengeti is during December to March, where you’ll be able to watch a mass birthing of wildebeest calves, and late May to early July, when the Migration begins.
Aside from going on safaris, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro should also be at the top of your African adventure itinerary! Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa at 5,895m and the world’s largest freestanding volcanic mass. No prior experience is needed to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, but you should aim to be generally fit!
Yes, it is possible to do a multi-country safari from Tanzania. Most travelers generally opt to do a Kenya-Tanzania safari to follow the Great Migration as the herds of wildebeest make the crossing from the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara. Be sure to obtain a multi-country visa if you are going on a Kenya-Tanzania tour!
