Regarded as one of the greatest wildlife spectacles in the world, Serengeti’s annual wildebeest migration is by far one of the most amazing safari experiences one should have the pleasure of experiencing at least once in their lifetime. With the mega herds of wildebeest, zebra and antelope spending more than 80% of their time on the endless plains of the majestic Serengeti National Park, it’s no wonder this park is one of the most popular national parks in the world. Even when the migration has moved on to the Maasai Mara, Serengeti National Park still offers what some have considered the most scintillating wildlife safari experiences in Africa.
During this tour, you will be accommodated at various accommodations which will be semi-permanent tented camps and Lodges. Your accommodations will be confirmed by Ahsante Tours, some of the viable options are Tanganyika wilderness camps and Tanzania wilderness camps.
Ahsante Tours’ migration safaris provide you with the best chances of exploring a wildlife haven and witnessing the longest and largest overland migration in the world and one of the 7 Natural Wonders of Africa. Ahsante Tours recommend a minimum of 4 days to see the migration and the itineraries include visits to other national parks and villages which provides for a more enriching experience. The best time to experience the migration safari is from November to August with April and May being the optimum time.

After your tour around the park, you will be transferred to your tented camp where you will be spending the night.
You will start your safari at 7:00 a.m. and head to Serengeti National Park, to kick off day two of your safari. You will pass by a traditional Maasai Boma along the way to experience the ways of life of the Maasai people. You will enter the Serengeti at around noon and spend the rest of your afternoon exploring its world renowned endless plains in search of one of the greatest wildlife spectacles in the world, the great annual migration. After your game drive, you will be taken to your tented camp/lodge where you will be spending the night.
You will spend the next two full days exploring the amazing variety of mammals, birds and reptile species the park has to offer and not to forget the breathtaking scenery and sunsets. After your tour of the park you will be transferred to your tented camp/lodge where you will be spending the night.
Today you will have an early start as you head to the Ngorongoro Crater to explore the last but not least amazing park of your tour. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the few areas in Tanzania where you can find such a breathtaking blend of scenery and wildlife coupled with a fascinating historical and cultural element.
The crater is not only the largest unbroken caldera in the world but it is also one of the New Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. After your morning game drive, you will take a break to enjoy your packed lunch at the Hippo Pool Picnic site then continue with your afternoon game drive. In the early evening you will be transferred back to your tented camp/lodge where you will be spending the night.
You will depart the camp at around 5:00 a.m. and head to Lake Eyasi with the Hadzabe bushmen, one of the last hunter-gatherer societies in the world. After your time with them, you will visit the Datoga tribe, skilled craftsmen, and blacksmiths. After your amazing cultural experience you will be transferred back to Moshi, Arusha, or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in the afternoon via curio shops where you can grab some souvenirs to take back home with you.
While on safari you will have a driver-guide with you throughout. Your driver-guides are well educated and trained in the field of Wildlife and Tour Guiding. With a wealth of experience in conducting safaris in various parks in Tanzania your knowledgeable and charming guides are sure to provide you with the ideal safari experience you deserve. They operate a well-maintained fleet of open-roof Toyota 4X4 Land Cruisers customized for safaris. All the vehicles are equipped with ICOM radios. These radios are commonly used for communication between driver-guides for up to date locations of animals and wildlife reports in the area.
Given the rough nature of the park roads while on safari, flat tires are fairly common while on game drives. Tire changes are handled fairly quickly by your driver-guides with little inconvenience. Vehicle break-downs are extremely rare as your vehicles are rigorously maintained. However, in the unusual event of a vehicle breakdown, a replacement vehicle would be immediately sent over to your location so that you can proceed with your safari as planned.
Daily delicious meals are included in the price. Ahsante Tours caters to a wide range of dietary requirements while on safari, therefore, it should not be a concern at all.
