Safari tour sample schedule

Day 1: Nairobi

On your arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi, you will be met by a AGS Travel Africa's representative outside the customs and immigration halls. You will then be taken to Kenya Comfort Hotel for your overnight stay in Nairobi.

Day 2: Nairobi - Ol Pejeta Game Conservancy

You will have breakfast at the hotel and after you will depart to the Mount Kenya region and the Ol Pejeta Game Conservancy. The Ol Pejeta Game Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals including the non-indigenous chimpanzees and the Big Five (the endangered black rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and lion). The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of the sanctuary guarantees an unforgettable safari experience.

You will then arrive and check-in at the Sweetwaters tented camp, followed by lunch. The afternoon will be spent at leisure. You will have dinner and stay overnight at the camp.

Day 3: Ol Pejeta Game Conservancy - Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, you will check-out and depart to Lake Nakuru National Park, situated in the Great Rift Valley. Arrive and check-in at Lake Nakuru Lodge, followed by lunch. Depart for an afternoon game drive in the park and around the alkaline lake. Lake Nakuru National Park, the world-famous haunt for pink flamingos, is a shallow alkaline lake in Kenya's Rift Valley.

The road from Nairobi to Nakuru passes down the Kikuyu escarpment with fine views of the Kedong Valley, Mounts Suswa, and Longonot. The landscape is picturesque, areas of sedge, marsh and grasslands alternating with rocky cliffs, and outcrop. In late 80's, the park also became Kenya's first rhino sanctuary and is today home to both the white and black rhinos. Lions, leopards, hippos, giraffes, and waterbucks are equally at home in this unique park.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru - Lake Naivasha

After breakfast at the lodge, you will depart to Lake Naivasha. Arrive and check-in at Kongoni Lodge. After lunch in the afternoon, proceed for a boat ride on the lake, which will give you a close-up look at the hippos. Visit the Crescent Island, almost the ‘garden of Eden’ for a walking safari. Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus.

The lake and its surrounds are rich in natural bounty and the fertile soils and water supply have made this one of Kenya's prime agricultural regions. Much of the lake is surrounded by forests of the yellow barked Acacia Xanthophlea, known as the yellow fever tree. These forests abound with bird life, and Naivasha is known as a world class birding destination.

The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to these shores. Giraffes wander among the acacia, buffalo wallow in the swamps, and Colobus monkeys call from the treetops while the lakes’ large hippo population sleep the day out in the shallows.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha - Masai Mara

After breakfast, check-out then drive to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve via Narok Town. Arrive and check-in for lunch at Enkorok Camp. In the afternoon, depart for a game drive in the reserve until sundown. Masai Mara offers an absolutely unique variety of animals thanks to the hilly region both humid and fertile, and criss-crossed by the rivers Mara and Talek, full of crocodiles and hippos.

These perennial rivers carry water the whole year round. The banks of the rivers are covered in thick forest, which gradually makes way for bush and grassland. The abundance of water and excellent availability of food are some of the reasons for the high density of wildlife there.

Day 6: Masai Mara

Today you will enjoy a full day spent in the reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. Meals and overnight are at Enkorok Camp Mara.

Day 7: Masai Mara - Nairobi -departure day

After breakfast at the camp, you will check-out, then drive to Nairobi for departures.
