During your safari, you will be accommodated in standard rooms including two nights of lodging in lodge. You will spend your first night in San José, move to Tortuguero on the second and third night, and then move to Arenal on the fourth and fifth night. You will stay in Monteverde on the sixth and seventh night, Manuel Antonio on the eighth and ninth night, Corcovado on the tenth and eleventh night, and San Gerardo De Dota on the twelveth night. You will then return to San José on the last night.


Day 1 (San José)

Welcome to Costa Rica! One of Destinos Tour Operador representatives will be waiting for you at the Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) to transfer you to your hotel in San José.

Day 2 (San José - Tortuguero)

With full board meals, this day, you will leave very early towards Tortuguero, taking the Braulio Carrillo highway which will show you its majestic nature. You will stop in Guapiles for a delicious breakfast, and then follow the route to the boarding place where you will start the boat adventure which will allow you to see the great variety of flora and fauna that this area has. Upon arrival at the hotel, you will have a delicious lunch and a moment of rest. In the afternoon, you will go to the village of Tortuguero, where you will appreciate the great variety of handicrafts and also visit the conservation center of the green turtle, where they will show you a video of these beautiful animals. Your lodging for the night is in Tortuguero.

Day 3 (Tortuguero Channels)

With full board meals, today is a new day which will start with a walk through the lush tropical forest where nature lovers can see many species of birds, mammals, and reptiles. And in the afternoon, you will continue admiring the wonders of the Caribbean in your tour of the Tortuguero Canals. Your lodging for the night is in Tortuguero.

Day 4 (Tortuguero - Arenal)

Your meals for today are breakfast and lunch. You will leave by boat through the channels to where you will take the bus to get to spend Guápiles. Along the way, you will stop at the restaurant where you will have your lunch. Those in charge of delivering the car will make delivery of it, so that this way they have the opportunity to move on your belongings from this place to the Northern part of the country, La Fortuna de San Carlos, home of the impressive Arenal Volcano. Your lodging for the night is in Arenal.

Day 5 (Free day in Arenal)

After breakfast, it is a free day to enjoy the impressive Arenal Volcano. Your lodging for the night is in Arenal.

Day 6 (Arenal - Monteverde)

After breakfast, this day, you will move to the mountainous area of Monteverde which has gained international renown as one of the most outstanding sanctuaries of wildlife in the tropics. Your lodging for the night is in Monteverde.

Day 7 (Free day in Monteverde)

Breakfast is included in today’s agenda. The small community of Monteverde is famous for its association with the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve and is a small town located near the entrance to the cloud forest. Monteverde was founded by the Cuáquera or Vaquera community that migrated from North America to Costa Rica in the 1950s. The Monteverde area of Costa Rica is world famous for its cloud forest. This wilderness area has been created to protect flora, fauna and water resources, and to carry out both scientific studies and environmental education programs. Now there are two reserves, the original Monteverde Rainforest Reserve and the new Santa Elena Rainforest Reserve.

In the forests of Monteverde, you can enjoy the rainforest climate and a walk through the paths between the varieties of plants and magnificent trees, there have been about 450 species of birds in the Monteverde area. At a certain time of the year, the native birds are joined by those who emigrate from North America. The resplendent quetzals with their long tails are in several places in the area and sometimes one can hear the "bong" of the bellbirds. These areas are nestled in the mountain range and protect providing a habitat for hundreds of species of plants and animals. Your lodging for the night is in Monteverde.

Day 8 (Monteverde - Manuel Antonio)

After breakfast, today, you will drive to the central Pacific area where you will find one of the most famous national parks of Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio National Park. You will have your lodging there.

Day 9 (Free day in Manuel Antonio)

You will have breakfast in the morning. Manuel Antonio National Park is small, with only 682 hectares. But it contains everything that attracts tourists to Costa Rica: beautiful beaches, a magnificent landscape with islands near the coast, a lush rainforest surrounded by a network of easy walking paths, and lots of wildlife. There are excellent possibilities to see monkeys (howler, white face and even monkey marmoset), sloths, and coatimundis. Lapa Rojas walk around often but you will need some luck to see them. It is a free day to enjoying the beaches and landscapes of the national park and its varied fauna such as monkeys, iguanas, sloths, or raccoons, which are easily visible on the beaches and jungles of the park. Your lodging for the night is in Manuel Antonio.

Day 10 (Manuel Antonio - Corcovado)

You will be served full board meals through the day. In the morning, you will move to Sierpe in Palmar Sur, where you will be waiting to be taken to your lodge. You will have lunch upon arrival (the car must be left in Sierpe in the Las Vegas Restaurant parking lot). Your lodging for the night is in Corcovado.

Day 11 (Corcovado)

You will be served full board meals through the day. In the morning excursion, you will have the opportunity to know the area of the Corcovado National Park. Your lodging for the night is in Corcovado.

Day 12 (Corcovado - San Gerardo De Dota)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Sierpe where you will take your car again to go to the beautiful area of San Gerardo de Dota, a place of exuberant vegetation that will make it clear because Costa Rica is sold as a destination "No Artificial Ingredients". Your lodging for the night is in San Gerardo de Dota.

Day 13 (San Gerardo De Dota - San José)

After breakfast, you will enjoy your free morning. At the time you like, you can take a route to the capital where you will spend the last night before returning to your country of residence. Here, you will return the rented vehicle. Your lodging for the night is in San José.

Day 14 (San José)

After breakfast, one of Destinos Tour Operador representatives will wait for you in the hotel lobby to take you to Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) so you can take your flight home.


Your safari tour will cover several places of Costa Rica including San José, Tortuguero, Arenal Volcano, Monteverde, Manuel Antonio, Corcovado, and San Gerardo de Dota.


You will be served 13 breakfasts, four lunches, and four dinners during the safari, including a breakfast at the restaurant on arrival day; two breakfasts, two lunches, and two buffet dinners at the lodge, and a lunch at the restaurant on the day of departure / interconnection point to other destinations.

On the fifth day of your tour, you can visit the hot springs to relax and enjoy a beautiful dinner overlooking the wonderful colossal Arenal as an optional excursion, or you can choose canopy, rappelling among other excursions which can be enjoyed in the zone.

In addition, during your free day, you can enjoy the rainforest climate and a walk through the paths between the varieties of plants and magnificent trees in Monteverde on the seventh day and enjoy the beaches and landscapes of the Manuel Antonio National Park and its varied fauna on the ninth day.
