Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), meet and be assisted by the expert guide for transfer to your Nairobi hotel. Nairobi is fondly referred to as the “Safari Capital of the World” or “The Place of Cool” in Maasai language. In Nairobi’s altitude (1700 meters), enjoy a pleasant tropical climate all year round.
Depending on the time of arrival, you can go to Giraffe Centre in the afternoon. Have an opportunity to feed the friendly Rothschild's Giraffe. They accept a kiss as they pick their food from your palms or mouth. You can also take a nature walk if interested at Nairobi safari walk in the Nairobi National Park.
Distance will be about 230 kilometers and approximately 4 hours by road. Depart from Nairobi at 08:00. Have a safari briefing session with the tour consultant before starting off the safari to Amboseli National Park at the foothills of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, the Africa’s highest peak. Have a game viewing en route and arrival in time for lunch.
Amboseli National Park was originally opened in 1948. The park is fairly small with an area of a 392-square kilometer and is amazingly very rich in both flora and fauna. Amboseli National Park, one of Kenya’s most popular parks, is mainly due to the magnificent backdrop of snow-capped Kilimanjaro (5,895 meters), the Africa’s highest point.
The waters from melted snow drain down the mountain under lava flows and surface in Amboseli National Park, creating a green belt of swampland amidst dusty plains. Here, hippo, elephant, and birds can be seen against the backdrop of the magnificent snow-capped mountain.
The park’s main attraction is the vast herds of elephants. The bull elephants have some of the largest tusks in Kenya, and giraffe, cheetah, wildebeest, and hyena can also be found in the park.
Distance will be about 312.7 kilometers and 5 hours and 40 minutes driving via Mombasa Road. You will have a pre-breakfast game drive with a chance of viewing the highest peak in Africa. Depart the lodge soon after breakfast at 9:00 and proceed to Lake Naivasha via the Great Rift Valley where you will have a stopover and photo session.
The Great Rift Valley is the continuous geographic trench, approximately 6,000 kilometers (3,700 miles) in length that runs from Lebanon's Beqaa Valley in Asia to Mozambique in South Eastern Africa. As the important pale anthropological discoveries in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zaire, the African Rift Valleys are indeed considered as the "cradle of mankind", that is the place where the species evolved and diversified in the last million years.
Distance will be about 182 kilometers and 3 hours and 45 minutes. Depart at 8:00 in the morning and arrive in time for lunch in the afternoon to Lake Bogoria National Reserve.
Lake Bogoria is an alkaline lake that lies in a volcanic a little south of the equator. Lake Bogoria is home at times to one of the world's largest populations of lesser flamingos. The lake is a Convention Wetland site which is an international treaty for the conservation and sustainable use of wetlands.
Lake Bogoria National Reserve has been a protected national reserve since November 29, 1973. The lake is shallow (about 10 meters depth) and is about 34-kilometer long and 3,5-kilometer wide. The lake is also famous for geysers and hot springs along the bank of the lake and in the lake. In 4 locations around the lake, you can observe at least 10 geysers, which erupt up to 5-meter high.
Distance will be about 220 kilometers with 6 hours driving. You will depart from the lodge soon after breakfast at 7:00 and proceed to Maasai Mara National Reserve and have 2 stopovers en route. You will arrive in Maasai Mara National Reserve at around 13:00.
Afriworld Tours and Safaris has arranged for your stay at the Mara Lodge which is hidden among the jungles in the depths of the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Later, you leave for an exciting afternoon game drive up to 18:00. Afterward, you can visit the Maasai village and sample the famous Maasai culture followed by a game drive.
