During this safari, you will explore Tarangire National Park with its huge elephant herds, the diverse landscapes of the Ngorongoro Crater, a collapsed volcano filled with wild animals of every kind, and follow the great wildebeest migration in Serengeti National Park. Come join Afrikakukaye Tours and Safaris and see a diversity of landscapes and wildlife!
During this safari tour, you will be accommodated at various lodges in Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and Tarangire national parks, and Ngorongoro Crater.
Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge is strategically located on the very edge of the vertiginous Western escarpment of the Rift Valley, affording magnificent views down across the whole lake. Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge invites you to an unforgettable safari experience from its privileged location, unrivaled by any other, both for game viewing and scenery.
Elegantly designed as a two-level ensemble of buildings, its authentic traditional African style decorations create a unique atmosphere that perfectly combines extreme tranquility with the best of adventure-packed safari experiences.
From its privileged position, all the lodges' 100 guestrooms have stunning views across the tranquil and beautiful waters of the lake. The spectacular swimming pool situated in a panoramic setting is a privileged location to enjoy the invigorating fresh air and the breathtaking views of the Pink Lake.
Located on the edge of the escarpment overlooking the plains of the South-Western Serengeti National Park, home to thousands of wild and rare animals, Serengeti Sopa Lodge lies within an area of outstanding natural beauty.
It is an oasis of cool relaxation from the equatorial sun. The lodge allows its guests to experience magnificent sights and enjoy interaction with the land and animals difficult to find elsewhere, whilst at the same time enjoying the highest level of cuisine and hospitality.
Facing the always magnificent sunsets to the West and located at the highest point on Ngorongoro Crater’s rim, Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge stands well over half a kilometer above the crater floor and offers unparalleled views across this enormous caldera.
Themed around traditionally circular African houses with conical roofs and decorated with examples of Africa’s rich tapestry of artistic traditions by way of rich woodcarvings and sculptures, the lodge harmonizes perfectly with its dramatic surroundings.
But the drama does not just stop with the great outdoors. It also flows through the split level interiors of the main building which all offer an unsurpassed generosity of space while somehow managing to combine an almost magically welcoming ambiance of both warmth and coziness.
After enjoying a long leisurely game drive between herds of wild animals and along miles of Africa’s seemingly endless roads, you come over a slight rise and the lodge appears almost immediately below you.
Built to blend in with the vastness of its surroundings, Tarangire Sopa Lodge lies hidden among the kopjes, ancient baobabs, and grasses of the Tarangire National Park, home to the greatest concentration of elephants in Africa. Many can be seen around the lodge, allowing visitors a close encounter.
Leave Arusha at 7:30 a.m. You will leave with a packed lunch and mineral water. Upon arriving at the national park gate, there will be a quick formal registration in this magnificent park. You will do the game drive until 5:00 p.m., then drive to your accommodation for your dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park with an en-route game drive. On the drive towards Seronera Area there is a possibility to see animals such as leopards, prides of lions, packs of spotted hyenas, the fleetest cheetahs, and many plain animals like buffaloes, topi, hartebeest, wildebeest, waterbucks, elands, zebras, gazelles, warthogs, just to name a few, and a consistent number of birds. Continue to the lodge for dinner and a good night.
Today you will enjoy a full day game drive, starting at dawn, in Serengeti National Park, with a balloon flight for one hour. Enjoy seeing the wide plains of Serengeti National Park from above. Later, enjoy a picinic breakfast before your guide picks you up and proceeds with unlimited game drives in the best locations to view wildlife away from the madding crowds. Dinner and overnight will be at Seronera Wildlife Lodge.
Wake up for breakfast and then, at around 7:30 a.m., start a game drive in the Serengeti for half a day. You will have a picnic / bush lunch packed for you. After your half day in Serengeti, you will start driving to Ngorongoro Crater. Upon your arrival, you will be transferred to your accommodation for your dinner and overnight.
Wake up early for breakfast, then leave for a Ngorongoro Crater tour. Upon arrival, start entering the crater and drive towards the descending route-stop at the view point and have a perfect view of the crater before ascending. After a picnic lunch, continue with a game drive until late afternoon.
Then you will ascend the crater and drive to Tarangire National Park which is very famous for its abundance of elephants and plenty of Baobab trees. The landscape feature is spectacular and worth it for photographers. Visit an authentic Maasai Boma on this day to see some of Tanzania’s remaining conservative societies. You will be amazed by the dances and colors of their surroundings and their lifestyle.
During the dry season, Tarangire is excellent, attracting an abundance of animals. There are lions, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, and wild dogs. Bird life is abundant, as well, in Tarangire. There are also good numbers of leopards roaming the park. Flora and fauna is excellent here.
Wake up in the morning for a scenic walk with an armed ranger. It is a two-hour walk after which you will return at the lodge for breakfast at 8:00 a.m. Then, at 9:00 a.m., start driving to Arusha.
Starting and ending in Arusha, this tour will take you through Lake Manyara, Tarangire, and Serengeti national parks, as well as Ngorongoro Crater.
The jewel in Ngorongoro’s crown is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest un-flooded and unbroken caldera in the world. About 20 kilometers across, 600 meters deep, and 300 square kilometers in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder.
The Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most famous sites and is said to have the highest density of wildlife in Africa. Sometimes described as an eighth wonder of the world, the crater has achieved world renown, attracting an ever-increasing number of visitors each year.
You are unlikely to escape other vehicles here, but you are guaranteed great wildlife viewing in a genuinely mind-blowing environment. There is nowhere else in Africa quite like Ngorongoro.
Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Forming a spectacular bowl of about 265 square kilometers, with sides up to 600 meters deep, it is home to approximately 30,000 animals at any given time. The crater's rim is over 2,200 meters high and experiences its own climate.
From the high vantage point it is possible to make out the tiny shapes of animals making their way around the crater floor far below. Swathes of clouds hang around the rocky rim most days of the year and it’s one of the few places in Tanzania where it can get chilly at night.
Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequaled for its natural beauty and scientific value. It has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa.
The park was established in 1952. It is home to the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth - the great migration of wildebeest and zebras. The resident population of lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and birds is also impressive.
There’s a wide variety of accommodations available, from luxury lodges to mobile camps. The park covers 5,700 square miles, (14,763 square kilometers), being larger than Connecticut, with at most a couple hundred vehicles driving around.
The park can be divided into three sections. The popular Southern / Central part (Seronera Valley) is what the Maasai called the serengit, the land of endless plains. It is classic savanna dotted with acacias and filled with wildlife. The Western corridor is marked by the Grumeti River and has more forests and dense bush. The North, Lobo Area, meets up with Kenya’s Maasai Mara Reserve and is the least visited section.
Tarangire National Park has some of the highest populations of elephants as compared to anywhere in Tanzania, and its sparse vegetation, strewn with baobab and acacia trees, makes it a beautiful and distinctive location to visit.
Located just a few hours’ drive from the town of Arusha, Tarangire is a popular stop for people traveling through the Northern safari circuit on their way to Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. The park extends into two game controlled areas and the wildlife is allowed to move freely throughout.
During your stay, you will be provided with full board from day one until day five. Mineral water will also be provided during the safari.
Optional cultural activities, walking tours, town tours, snake park tours on day six are available on request at an extra cost.
