My husband and I have been married for 5 years. It was getting close to our 6th anniversary and we wanted to make the next celebrations a bit different. Due to suggestions from his and my friends, we thought Uganda would work for a safari. We went to Uganda for 12 days which ended up being memorable due to the numerous interesting things we saw and did in the country. We made game drives (Queen Elizabeth N.P), hiked mountains(mountain Sabinyo) tracked golden monkeys (Mgahinga N.P), tracked chimpanzees (Kyambura gorge) and tracked mountain gorillas (Bwindi Forest. We did a lot of trekking and game drives which we never get a chance to do in Belgium.
Special thanks go to our Tour operator African Wild Tours and our guide Fredrick who made this safari special.
We're from Germany and we've never been in a country like Uganda. We visited our son and brother, who makes a social year in Uganda. After a few days in Mityana, we wanted to drive to the Queen Elizabeth NP. Our tour guide, Daniel and our driver Achim picked us up very punctually, which isn't so typical for the normal people in Uganda, at our house in Mityana. After a long drive through the whole land we arrived at the Queen Elizabeth NP and we made our first game drive. It wars really amazing to see the African nature and especially the animals we don't know from Germany. We stayed two days in our first lodge and spend our new year in the pure nature from Africa. After three days with game drives, jungle tour, and a boat tour we drove to our second lodge. During the drive to the next lodge, we visited some lakes. Daniel knows where the animals are and where the best places are to find them. After a night in the second lodge, Akhim drove us back to Kampala where we spent our last three days in Uganda.
The Safari was really amazing and during our time in Uganda one of our highlights.

We booked a 10-day safari including Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, Chimpanzees in Kibale Forest and Zziwa Rhinos Sanctuary. We were three friends. The safari was awesome, we saw all the animals including lions, monkeys, elephants, leopard and much more. I liked most the Murchison Falls. There you can see the nature in all its beauty. I remember an elephant washing next to a crocodile on the river Nile. You can only experience this in Africa. Daniel, our tour guide, he is a young, dynamic guy. Even he created the company on his own. So I guess it's decisive to support the bravery of self-entrepreneurship. I can definitely recommend the safaris in Uganda, they are way better than the ones in Tanzania or Kenya. The pearl of Africa that's how Winston Churchill called it, is more originally and beauty. I can also recommend booking with African Wild Tours, there are capable and reliable. We had an amazing week in Uganda.
