Join this African Surfaris’ 8-day surf trip to explore the gems of the Durban's north and south coasts. In Umhlanga Rocks, Durban,you will enjoy the wide variety of waves ranging from sand bottom points to beach breaks and reefs. You will also seek out the “Big Five” animals in Hluhluwe–iMfolozi Park and feel the African beauty that it offers. African Surfaris will take you on a surf tour like no other, where you can enjoy a dream-like scenery and have everlasting memories.
During the surf camp, you will be staying in accommodations (beach-front or right across the street) that are provided by African Surfaris. You will stay in Durban for 5 nights and spend the other 2 nights in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park.
On this surf camp, you will enjoy daily surf tours in KwaZulu-Natal’s coastline (Durban's north and south coasts). In Hluhluwe–Imfolozi Park, you will also seek out the “Big Five” animals.
Justin Starow, or “Bird” as he's affectionately known by his friends and family, originally hails from Laguna Beach, California but now resides in Durban, South Africa. Justin is a surfer with 30 years experience and has traveled the world in the search of surfing waves and adventures.
Dave Renaud was born and raised in the coastal town of Umhlanga Rocks, just outside of Durban. He is a former professional surfer and South African champion who has spent the last 40 years in a pursuit of the perfect wave. Besides being a former professional surfer, he is also a qualified professional surf instructor and coach.
Monte Fuller has stayed in Southern Africa since a USA medical mission to Lesotho in 2000. He comes from Oregon where he worked as a firefighter / paramedic with Nestucca Fire Rescue and Pacific West Ambulance. He was also a swift water rescue technician and a captain of the NRFPD Water Rescue Team. Over the years, he has also been involved in films, video production, and has traveled around the world to surf and film.
The surf camp will take place in Durban and you will explore its north and south coasts. You will also visit Hluhluwe–iMfolozi Park in KwaZulu-Natal.
During the surf trip, you will be served with daily breakfast which includes cereal, muesli, local fruits, yogurt, coffee, tea, milk, and fruit juices.
Please book your flights to arrive at King Shaka International Airport (DUR). African Surfaris will pick you up from the airport. The pick-up is included in the price.
