Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge

Deep in the bushveld overlooking a waterhole and an open plain, lies a lodge that pulses to the rhythm of Africa’s heartbeat. This is Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge, steeped in tradition, vibrant and warm, the Sabi Sabi of “Today”. With a history spanning over 35 years, the lodge has earned a reputation of a “luxury home in the bush”, service excellence and effortless personal attention.

The conventional safari style showcases a vibrant and eclectic mix of furnishings and décor garnered from all corners of the African continent.

Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge has been sensitively designed to allow ample space to relax, unwind, and savour the tranquility of the bush. The two swimming pools and large covered viewing decks overhanging the Msuthlu riverbed are an invitation to cool off in the filtered water or sit in comfort while spotting game at the well-utilized pan.

An exquisitely furnished lounge, atrium and intimate bar area are perfect meeting places for friends old and new. As an extra indulgence, the Amani Spa at Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge offers the ultimate African spa experience.

Day 1: Transfer from the airport to Sabi Sand Game Reserve

Depart Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) on a scheduled Federal Air charter shuttle flight to Skukuza Airport. Here, the lodge rangers will meet you and whisk you away to your lodge in the Sabi Sabi Game Reserve. Lunch is served before departing on your first late afternoon game drive.

Return for dinner in the lounge / dining area of your chosen lodge - this is an interactive affair with your ranger and fellow safari enthusiasts. This is the also the first night of sharing and discussing your sightings with educational and interesting insights from your ranger.

Day 2 and 3: Game drives

An early morning wake up call with tea and coffee will be followed by a morning game drive with your experienced ranger and tracker who will share their extensive knowledge of the bush with you. They know the area intimately and have studied the behavior of the animals of the area, allowing for an unforgettable African safari.

After breakfast, there will be the opportunity for a guided bush walk for a different perspective of the wilderness, or you may simply choose to relax at the lodge and even spoil yourself with a treatment at the fabulous wellness spa. Afternoon tea will be followed by the evening game drive where more wild adventure awaits.

Day 4: Departure

After an early game drive and breakfast, your ranger will transfer you to Skukuza Airport (SZK) to connect to your scheduled Federal Air charter shuttle flight back to OR Tambo International Airport (JNB).

The Sabi Sand Game Reserve is situated in the southwestern corner of the world-renowned Kruger National Park in South Africa and consists of 65,000 hectares (160,620 acres). It is the most prestigious game reserve in South Africa and is famous for incredible leopard and lion sightings.

With one of the richest game populations in the country, the chances of seeing the Big Five are excellent. Even though there is a 50-kilometre unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park, wildlife in the Sabi Sand Reserve is well habituated resulting in extraordinary close encounters and prolific sightings, particularly of the elusive leopard.

Sabi Sand Game Reserve offers excellent wildlife viewing. This is especially true for flagship species including the big cats. All of the Big Five are usually ticked in a two to three-day visit. The off-road driving assures quality sightings of most species, particularly the habituated resident predators.

Sabi Sand is part of the Greater Kruger ecosystem, which makes for a very authentic wildlife experience. Wildlife viewing in Sabi Sands is at its best during the dry season (June to September). August and September are particularly nice, since it is warmer than in mid-winter and animals tend to gather at water sources, making them easier to spot.
