Awake to the calls of the birds and enjoy a scrumptious breakfast on the outside patio. Each suite offers an en-suite bathroom with everything you can dream of, as well as Internet access and thorough cleanliness that one would expect of a luxurious bush lodge.

Have a drink in the lapa or at the bar, take a plunge in the sparking pool, dine in the open dining room or at the boma, and enjoy great walks to discover the surrounding nature. What you will find as an unexpected surprise is the unsurpassed hospitality of your hosts.

The four exclusive suites are stylishly decorated with a big five theme and have an indoor and outdoor sitting area and, per your choice, twin beds or a king-size bed, air conditioning / heater, an en-suite bathroom with double washbasins, toilet, bath, and a separate shower unit with a rain and regular shower.

Furthermore, the suites are equipped with personal wall safe, wireless internet access, radio / alarm clock, mini-bar / fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, tourist information file, hair dryers, towels, gowns, and a private veranda. Day 1: Arrival

Arrive at African Rock Lodge. Depending on what time you get there, you might want to go for a walk or a short drive around the wildlife estate, looking for animals roaming freely around the lodge. You have the chance to encounter giraffes, zebras, warthogs, monkeys, many types of antelopes, and, if you are very lucky, you might see leopards or hyenas. You will have dinner at the lodge.

Day 2: Kruger National Park

The following morning you will depart early for a full day safari in the Kruger National Park. A professional guide will share with you the beauty of this enormous park and focus on looking for the big animals without neglecting the smaller and the other aspects of nature.

You will have breakfast en-route and you will stop at a restaurant for lunch. The safari will last until late afternoon. As you will sit in an open safari vehicle during most of the day, wear some warm clothes, especially on winter mornings, but be prepared for the heat later on. You will be dropped off at the lodge right before dinner.

Day 3: Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre

In the morning, after breakfast, you will visit Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre. The center has a lot of different animals: big cats such as cheetahs, leopards, and lions. They have hyenas and wild dogs, but also a lot of birds of prey and vultures.

The guides will show you around and provide a lot of information. In the afternoon, you will take a boat cruise on the Blyde Dam, enjoying the beautiful scenery with the chance to spot hippos and / or crocodiles. You will be back at the lodge a bit before dinner.

Day 4: Blyde River Canyon

The second full day trip, this time in a closed vehicle to the Blyde River Canyon, will depart after breakfast at the lodge. You will drive up the Eastern Drakensberg Mountains and stop at the main viewpoints in the area: Three Rondawels viewpoint, Bourkes Luck potholes, and a few more magnificent viewpoints. The guide will choose a nice restaurant on this route for a lunch break. Return to the lodge will be late in the afternoon, in time for dinner.

Day 5: Private game reserve

The next day, you will have breakfast at the lodge, after which you can relax a bit and enjoy the grounds, the pool, or the estate. You will go for an afternoon game drive in one of the private (big five) game reserves in the area. Dinner will be ready as soon as you are back at the lodge.

Day 6: Departure

You will have breakfast anytime you like and enjoy the lodge or wildlife estate until check-out time which is at 11:00 a.m. Optional extras can be arranged, as well as transfers to and from Hoedspruit Airport or town.
