Day 1: Amboseli

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO). After proceeding through immigration and customs, you will be met by an African Mosaic Tours representative who will brief you about your safari. After the briefing, you will proceed to Amboseli National Park. The park is a home to the proud and brightly painted Maasai tribe and the acacia woodlands and grasslands of the park attract an abundance of game, including buffalo, lion cheetah, spotted hyenas, zebras, and much more.

You can watch herds of elephants crossing the plains with Mount Kilimanjaro in the backdrop leaves a lasting impression. Amboseli is the best place for a chance to spot a black rhino. There will be an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight will be at selected accommodation. Accommodation will either be at Amboseli Sopa Lodge or Kibo Tented Camp.

Day 2: Amboseli

Full day in Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drive with optional visits to Masai village. Amboseli National park is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya. The park lies at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, whose snow-capped summit presents a splendid view on clear days. Amboseli National Park is often referred to as “the home of elephants" some of the largest elephant herds are found here. All meals and overnight will either be at Amboseli Sopa Lodge or Kibo Tented Camp.

Day 3: Amboseli or Mount Kenya

After breakfast, you will be driven to the Mount Kenya region with lunch en route, your destination will be Mount Serena, this timbered tree hotel offers champagne-clear mountain air, sweeping views across the tree canopy, sparkling trout streams, and gentle forest walks. The open-air viewing deck looks down on to its own water hole and salt lick, which attracts numerous herds of elephant and buffalo. There is also a tunnel leading to a photo-hide, which offers spectacular viewing and photographic opportunities just meters away from the wildlife at the water hole. See the game from the timbered game-viewing decks and winding stairs leading to a selection of snugly comfortable, cabin-styled rooms. All meals and overnight will be at Serena Mountain Lodge.

Day 4: Mount Kenya to Samburu

After breakfast, you will proceed to the semi-arid and rugged landscape of Samburu National Reserve. Samburu boasts numerous animal species that include the big cats, herbivores, and reptiles such as crocodiles. Samburu is one of the few parks where leopard spotting is frequent. Samburu also offers superb bird-watching with numerous weaver birds, the martial eagle, and the blue-legged Somali ostrich. After lunch, you will proceed on a late afternoon game drive. Accommodation will either be at Sopa Lodge or Sentrim Tented Camp.

Day 5: Samburu

Early morning and late afternoon game-drives enable you to see wildlife unique to this arid yet beautiful part of Kenya. All meals and overnight accommodation will either be at Sopa Lodge or Sentrim Tented Camp.

Day 6: Samburu or Lake Nakuru

You will depart to Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru and the other lakes of the Great Rift Valley are the few geological features of the earth visible from outer space. The park is famous for its stunning flock of loner flamingos, which literally turn its shores pink. Lunch will be followed by afternoon game drive where you can expect to see roam waterbucks, Bohor reedbuck, zebra, the black and white rhino, lions, Rothschild giraffes, white and black Columbus monkeys. The birdlife in Lake Nakuru is plentiful and therefore the reason why it’s a beacon for leading ornithologist and wildlife film makers. Dinner and overnight will be at Lake Nakuru Lodge or Lion Hill camp.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru or Mara

After an early breakfast, you will depart to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve with game en route. You will arrive in time for lunch. You will enjoy here afternoon game drives that will bring forth the exciting wildlife that makes Masai Mara famous the world over. Among the animals expected to be seen are the black manned lion, cheetah, elephant, hippo, hyena, and prey or plains game just to mention but a few. There is also plenty of birdlife with over 402 species recorded. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at Mara Sopa Lodge or Sentrim.

Day 8: Mara

On this day, you will have an early morning game drive. This is the time when the animals are most active before the heat of the day sends them for cover under the bushes, burrows, and trees. Searching for the animals you might have missed the previous day. Returning for breakfast and the rest of the morning will be spent at leisure. After lunch, you may visit the Maasai Manyatta (optional and at an extra cost) - hut where you will see the traditional way of life of the Maasai people, who have stuck to their customs and adopted to live harmoniously with the wildlife. The rest of the afternoon will be spent on the last game in the Maasai Mara probably in search of the animals not seen so far. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at Mara Sopa Lodge or Sentrim.

Day 9: Maasai Mara or Nairobi

You will have early morning game viewing and breakfast followed by a drive to Nairobi or drop off at the airport.

Kenya holds the reputation as the ultimate safari destination. A Kenya safari is renowned for its outstanding wildlife viewing, wide open plains, breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro followed by a relaxing stay on a palm fringed coast with soft white sandy shores.
