Experience one of the most interesting and participatory Namibian cultural holiday tours with African Coast Travel and Tours! You will be taken to visit Himba tribes in a local traditional tour and see tribal people with their cultural norms in Namibia. There is also the Herero, the funniest people on earth with whom you will eat and dine together. Combined with some visits to the wilderness, this safari experience will surely take you deeper into the heart of Namibian nature.
For the duration of this safari, you will have the option of accommodated lodging or camping for your overnight stays. You will spend the nights at !Uris Safari Lodge or Makalani Hotel, Sachsenheim Guest Farm, Bennie's Entertainment Park or Etuna Guest House, Opuwo Country Lodge, Hobatere Lodge, and Okaukuejo Resort.
After an early pickup from your hotel, you will travel to Okahandja to visit Herero graves and Kavango woodcarver's market. After that, you will continue via Otjiwarongo and Otavi to Tsumeb. In Tsumeb, you will visit a cultural village for an insight into the rural life of Namibian tribes and a visit to Tsumeb Museum. Overnight at !Uris Safari Lodge or Makalani Hotel in Tsumeb.
You will depart to Treesleeper Camp near Tsintsabis, home to two Bushmen tribes. You will be able to experience their traditional hunting and gathering lifestyle. Overnight at Sachsenheim Guest Farm.
Travel north to Ovamboland, the most densely populated region of Namibia. Visit Nakambale Museum at Olukonda, a former Finnish mission station. Continue to Ngonga homestead and observe demonstrations on wheat crushing, basket weaving, hair plaiting, traditional dancing, and music. After enjoying a traditional lunch, you will continue to Ongwediva and your base for the night, Bennie's Entertainment Park & Lodge or Etuna Guest House.
An early start takes you through western Ovamboland, a landscape of flat, sandy plains, and savannah grassland, dotted with Makalani palms. Continue to Opuwo via Ruacana. Overnight at Opuwo Country Lodge.
Today, you will visit a typical Himba settlement to experience the daily life of this nomadic tribe. Overnight at Hobatere Lodge.
You will enter Etosha National Park this morning. The park is famous for its concentration of wildlife around its waterholes. Passing through the western gate, you will travel to Okaukuejo, via the many waterholes dotted along the way. The western part of Etosha is only entered by Namibian registered tour operators with a special permit and is therefore off limits to individual travelers. Overnight at Okaukuejo Resort.
After a short game drive in the morning, you will return to Windhoek via Outjo, Otjiwarongo, and Okahandja. You will arrive late in the afternoon in Windhoek. You will be dropped off at the airport or hotel.
