Kenya Safari

This is a group safari to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. The safari begins with pick up from Nairobi at a central location (Muindi Mbingu Street) or pick up from hotels within the Nairobi CBD or Westlands area near the highway for easy pick-up. The safari is in a 4x4 landcruiser jeep and you will spend the night in a tented camp which is all ensuite with a bathroom, flushing toilet, and bed.

Miti Mingi Eco Camp

The camp is situated within the Masai Mara eco-system and on the banks of Ololaimutia River which is a watering point for most of the wild animals, especially elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, etc. This small and exclusive campsite comprises 25 tents. The tents are furnished with all the amenities required by the modern traveler.

Decorated in calming safari tones, natural woods, wrought iron, and crisp cotton, each tent has been meticulously planned to maximize comfort. All tents have four-poster beds and mosquito nets, en-suite with showers, WC, flush toilets, hot and cold running water, and electricity with a voltage of 240 volts.

Rhino Tourist Camp

This serene place is on the slopes of Oloolaimutia Hills offering magnificent views across the eastern reaches of the park. The camp is one kilometer from the Masai Mara’s Oloolaimutia Gate and seven kilometers from the Sekenani Gate. The camps can accommodate up to 84 people with options of single, double, triple, and family occupancy. The rooms, which are constructed to best blend with the milieu of the Masai Mara, are fronted by a private veranda ideal for relaxing and giving one the feeling of truly experiencing the tranquility of the bush.

Even after returning from a day out on safari, the feeling of wilderness will be maintained. The hot water shower in the camp is produced environmentally friendly by a photovoltaic plant which ensures that you can relax and enjoy the natural sounds of the environment. Due to the high elevation, the camp is situated at 1,850 meters above sea level, there is a pleasant climate with warm days and cool nights. All tents have en-suite bathrooms equipped with safari showers, hand wash basins, and flush toilets. This is where you can relax and let your impressions collected during an eventful day on safari.

Program

Day 1: Nairobi - Maasai Mara

At 8:00 a.m., you will be picked up from your hotel within the city center or Westland area and commence the drive to Maasai Mara via the Great Rift Valley view point where you will have a breathtaking view of the floor of the Rift Valley. Lunch will be at a restaurant on the way. At 4:30 p.m., depart for a sunset game viewing drive in the Maasai Mara National Reserve where chances of seeing the big cats are extremely high. Return to the camp or lodge for a sumptuous buffet dinner ending with a good time for resting. Dinner and overnight in Miti Mingi Camp or similar.

Day 2: Full-day game drive in Masai Mara Reserve

Have breakfast at 6:30 a.m. and leave for a full-day game viewing in the park at 7:00 a.m. On this day, spend the full day exploring Masai Mara in search of the big five, hippos and Nile crocodiles. Thereafter, go for a picnic lunch in the park under a Croton tree shade overlooking the vast landscape of the park. Dinner and overnight in Miti Mingi Camp or similar.

Day 3: Depart Maasai Mara - Nairobi

You will enjoy the last breakfast. Thereafter commence, drive back to Nairobi. On arrival, you will be dropped off at the city center or hotel within the city center.

Masai Mara National Reserve

Maasai Mara Reserve is the most popular tourism destination in Kenya. Located in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grassland. Wildlife is most concentrated on the reserve’s western escarpment. It is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife Viewing areas. The annual wildebeest migration alone involves over 1,500,000 animals arriving in July and departing in November. Hardly can a visitor miss to spot the big five.

The phenomenal wildebeest migration which is a spectacular event only seen in Maasai Mara is the wonder of the world. Masai Mara safari delivers many attractions, as the reserve is home to an excellent year-round concentration of game, including the more than two million wildebeest, zebras, and other antelopes that make up the famous Great Migration. Balloon ride conducted on the morning of day two

A balloon safari at a discounted 380 USD per person can be organised early morning on this day then proceed with the normal program. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the great migration. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna - lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.

Maasai village visit

In the evening, visit the local Masai village for a Masai cultural tour at 20 USD. Learn about the Masai community and interact with the local Masai people.
