This Premium Adventure Tour offers you 10 days to explore the wilderness of Namibia.

You will have 10 magnificent days to explore, starting off in Windhoek the capital and largest city in Namibia. Meet one of the last semi-nomadic tribes in Africa, still reflecting the importance of the land and blood in the ochre they use to colour their skin. Safari through Etosha National Park while hunting with your eyes to spot four of the big five. Opt to walk to the famous White Lady Bushman painting and become part of the highest mountain in Namibia originating from the Early Cretaceous rifting that led to the opening of the South Atlantic Ocean. Appreciate preserved German architecture in Swakopmund while looking forward to your chosen optional activities. Experience that perfect moment and make a true connection with Africa while driving in the unique Polaris All-Terrain Vehicles as an optional Guided Self Drive. Travel to Sesriem and Sossusvlei in the oldest desert in the world before returning to Windhoek.

You will be staying in comfortable 3-star graded lodges, hotels, and bungalows with twin shared en suite rooms.

Most rooms in Southern Africa don’t have mosquito nets, as it is not needed. Some establishments will have fans instead of air-conditioning. All accommodation is shared between same gender members of the tour group unless you booked with a partner, friend, or family member or paid a single supplement.

There is a possibility to request for a pre and post night accommodation at an additional cost. Please send an inquiry for more details.


Day 1: Windhoek

Explore Windhoek during the day and meet your group and your tour leader in the evening at 6 p.m. to get acquainted and to review your trip details. Windhoek is the capital city with loads of interesting things to offer. One of the most famous is the display of 33 meteorites, the Gibeon Meteorites, in the Post Street Mall.

There, you can take pictures of and touch these extraterrestrial bodies that are corrosive resistant due to the high amount of nickel in them. Shopping opportunities abound and, for the historically inclined, there are many museums and historical buildings within walking distance around the town center. One of the most widely photographed and a historical landmark is the Christ Church, a Lutheran church, built in the Gothic revival style.

Day 2: Windhoek to Etosha Region

Depart after breakfast for the Etosha region, an area dominated by the famous Etosha National Park. This region is divided into 8 different main vegetation zones. On your way, experience the biome change as Mopanie Trees starts to join the Thorn trees creating the unique feeling of this region. More and more termite hills start to greet you travelling north towards Etosha National Park, one of Southern Africa’s best-loved wildlife sanctuaries.

Day 3: Etosha National Park

Enjoy a full day’s game drive in your air-conditioned premium overland safari truck. Gather memories of unique sightings that you will not likely experience again. Watch how ghostly grey-white elephants bathe themselves in the white dust of the area or zoom in on the magnificent sight of giraffes etched against a wide and open horizon.

Day 4: Etosha Region to Kamanjab

We travel to the small settlement of Kamanjab and take a guided tour of an authentic Himba village. Experience their culture and way of living first hand – learn about their ancestors and herbal medicine, their hairstyles and jewellery imitating the status of each tribe member as well as their close relationship with nature, their cattle, and children.

Day 5: Kamanjab to Brandberg (UisArea)

We travel south to Brandberg, home to Königstein, at 2,573 meters above sea level the highest peak in Namibia. You will visit the famous White Lady Bushmen painting in the Brandberg on a guided hike. The walk to the painting and back is about 2 hours. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery along the riverbed on your way to the famous lady, with multicoloured rocks that take on various shades of flaming orange in the late afternoon, giving the mountain its name. Around the lodge area, there is a good chance to see the famous desert elephant, sometimes casually wandering into the lodge premises.

Day 6: Brandberg to Swakopmund

We continue to Swakopmund with its distinct German influence and cooler Atlantic sea air. Named by the Nama people as “Tsoakhaub – excrement opening” describing the Swakop River at the time of floods emptying into the ocean

Experience well preserved German buildings while you visit The Mole, an artificial harbour completed in 1900 that was blocked in the winter of 1906 by a sandbank making it an unsuccessful attempt. Visit the lighthouse who together with the mole, is the specific locations since 1892 symbolizing the laying of the foundation stone of the town.

Near the museum, you can see the most beautiful building completed in 1905 called the Woermann House. Book numerous activities and make most of your stay in this historic town.

Day 7: Swakopmund

Swakopmund’s wide variety of things to see and do caters for a wide scope of tastes and styles. You can take a walk along the beach and dip your toes in the icy Atlantic Ocean or visit the Krystal Galerie, which boasts with the largest quartz crystal cluster on display in the world, weighing in at 14,100 kilograms.

Browse the many excellent bookshops and curio shops and spoil yourself with a unique gift from the area. If adrenalin and outdoors is your thing, then you can enjoy optional activities like quad biking, sandboarding, four by four safaris, skydiving (weather permitting), and more.

Day 8: Swakopmund to Naukluft Region

Today is an early departure and a long drive south into the Namib Desert. You will drive through the Kuiseb and Gaub passes and visit Solitaire to taste their world-renowned apple crumble pie on your way to the Naukluft region.

Day 9: Sesriem / Sossusvlei

We stay close to Sesriem and use the opportunity to experience the beautiful desert sun rising over the dunes. Climb the majestic Dune 45 and enjoy your included 4x4 transfer to Sossusvlei/Deadvlei, a seemingly endless expanse of sand dunes. We explore Sesriem Canyon in the afternoon.

Day 10: Naukluft Region to Windhoek

Travel to Windhoek, Namibia’s capital. Arrive in Windhoek, after lunch. This will be our last goodbye, and the end of another incredible tour. Please ensure that you departure flight is booked for after 8PM.

Going Green: Water-Purifying Systems

With our mission to tread lightly, we have installed water purifying systems in our vehicles to offer our travellers the opportunity to refill their water bottles and we actively discourage our travellers from purchasing water or other drinks in single-use plastic bottles.

The system consists of a sediment, granular carbon and carbon block filter as pre - treatment and then an Ultra-Filtration membrane which filters down to 0.2 microns to remove bacteria and parasites. The water then flows through an inline carbon polishing filter before flowing to the tap. See pictures in the photo section.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Hosea Kutako Internatinal Airport (WDH). Upon arrival in Windhoek, you will make your way to the joining hotel. As an added service to our travellers, your arrival airport transfer is included. Walk out of the international arrivals area and look for a transfer person holding Africa4us signage and your name. Ask them what hotel they will be taking you to (do not volunteer this information). Then, present your passport for proof of identity.

The tour departs in the morning of day 2. A brief departure meeting will be held in the hotel reception area in the evening of day 1 of your tour at 6 p.m. Upon arrival, the reception will provide information from your tour leader regarding the meeting place and time.

As a precondition, we require your arrival flight details no later than four weeks prior to the start date of your tour. The transfer in non-refundable if not used. If you have not met our representative within 30 minutes of clearing customs and immigration, please call the 24-hour emergency number which will be communicated to you.
