You will be staying in comfortable 3-star graded lodges, hotels, and bungalows with twin shared en suite rooms.

Most rooms in Southern Africa don’t have mosquito nets, as it is not needed. Some establishments will have fans instead of air-conditioning. All accommodation is shared between same gender members of the tour group unless you booked with a partner, friend, or family member or paid a single supplement.

There is a possibility to request for a pre and post night accommodation at an additional cost. Please send an inquiry for more details.


Day 1: Windhoek

Explore Windhoek during the day and meet your group and your tour leader in the evening at 6 p.m. to get acquainted and to review your trip details. Windhoek is a tiny capital town but with loads of interesting things to offer. One of the most famous is the display of 33 meteorites, the Gibeon Meteorites, in the Post Street Mall.

There, you can take pictures of and touch these extraterrestrial bodies that are corrosive resistant due to the high amount of nickel in them. Shopping opportunities abound and, for the historically inclined, there are many museums and historical buildings within walking distance around the town center. One of the most widely photographed and a historical landmark is the Christ Church, a Lutheran church, built in the Gothic revival style.

Day 2: Windhoek to Etosha National Park

Depart after breakfast for Etosha National Park, one of Southern Africa’s best-loved wildlife sanctuaries. Head out for an afternoon game drive to search for elephants, the unique black-faced impala, zebras, the endangered black rhino, or any of the more than 100 mammal species the park is home to. In the rainy season, the salt pans turn into shallow lakes, with pelicans, flamingos, and other bird species flocking to this temporary water haven.

Day 3: Etosha National Park

Enjoy a full day’s game drive in your air-conditioned premium overland safari vehicle. Gather memories of unique sightings that you will not likely experience again. Watch how ghostly grey-white elephants bathe themselves in the white dust of the area or zoom in on the magnificent sight of giraffes etched against a wide and open horizon.

Day 4: Etosha National Park to Kamanjab

You will stay overnight about 20 kilometres outside Kamanjab on a family farm. This extraordinary place offers guided tours around an authentic Himba village. Experience in-depth the life and ways of living of the last traditional tribe in Namibia.

Ever heard of the milking ceremony and a smoke bath? Learn about their beliefs in their ancestors and herbal medicine, their hairstyles and jewelry imitating the status of each tribe member, as well as their close relationship with nature, their cattle, and children.

Day 5: Kamanjab to Brandberg (UisArea)

We travel south to Brandberg, home to Königstein, at 2,573 meters above sea level the highest peak in Namibia. You will visit the famous White Lady Bushmen painting in the Brandberg on a guided hike. The walk to the painting and back is about 2 hours. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery along the riverbed on your way to the famous lady, with multicoloured rocks that take on various shades of flaming orange in the late afternoon, giving the mountain its name. Around the lodge area, there is a good chance to see the famous desert elephant, sometimes casually wandering into the lodge premises.

Day 6: Brandberg to Swakopmund

We continue to Swakopmund with its distinct German influence and cooler Atlantic sea air. Swakopmund offers a variety of cultural experiences and adventure activities, bakeries, cafes, book shops, and curio shops to spoil yourself.

Day 7: Swakopmund

Swakopmund’s wide variety of things to see and do caters for a wide scope of tastes and styles. You can take a walk along the beach and dip your toes in the icy Atlantic Ocean or visit the Krystal Galerie, which boasts with the largest quartz crystal cluster on display in the world, weighing in at 14,100 kilograms.

Browse the many excellent bookshops and curio shops and spoil yourself with a unique gift from the area. If adrenalin and outdoors is your thing, then you can enjoy optional activities like quad biking, sandboarding, four by four safaris, skydiving (weather permitting), and more.

Day 8: Swakopmund to Sesriem

Today is an early departure and a long drive south into the Namib Desert. You will drive through the Kuiseb and Gaub passes and visit Solitaire to taste their world-renowned apple crumble pie on your way to Sesriem and Sossusvlei.

Day 9: Sesriem

We stay close to Sesriem and use the opportunity to experience the beautiful desert sun rising over the dunes. Climb the majestic Dune 45 before continuing to Sossusvlei/Deadvlei, a seemingly endless expanse of sand dunes. We explore Sesriem Canyon in the afternoon.

Travel to Windhoek, Namibia’s capital. Arrive in Windhoek after lunch. This will be our last goodbye and the end of another incredible tour. Book a day or two extra in Windhoek to make the most of your stay.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Hosea Kutako Internatinal Airport (WDH). Upon arrival in Windhoek, you will make your way to the joining hotel. As an added service to our travellers, your arrival airport transfer is included. Walk out of the international arrivals area and look for a transfer person holding Africa4us signage and your name. Ask them what hotel they will be taking you to (do not volunteer this information). Then, present your passport for proof of identity.

The tour departs in the morning of day 2. A brief departure meeting will be held in the hotel reception area in the evening of day 1 of your tour at 6 p.m. Upon arrival, the reception will provide information from your tour leader regarding the meeting place and time.

As a precondition, we require your arrival flight details no later than four weeks prior to the start date of your tour. The transfer in non-refundable if not used. If you have not met our representative within 30 minutes of clearing customs and immigration, please call the 24-hour emergency number which will be communicated to you.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 36% of the total price.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 60 days before the arrival date.
