"We were a group of 6 mature friends who engaged with Zim Travel and Tours for a Victoria Falls and Botswana experience in 10 days. We were not disappointed in their experience, effiency, helpfulness and friendliness. For a tour within our budget we felt we were well looked after. Blessing and Sheila were great guides and took us to places that gave us a taste of life in Zimbabwe and Botswana. Highlights were the Addo Elephant Park, sleeping under the stars on the salt pans ( amazing), Chobe Safaris, and seeing the Victoria Falls. Sadly, the country was struggling with the effects of drought and there were low water levels at the Falls. We would use them again. Feel we got good value for the money. Accomodatios were clean with comfortable beds, but not 5 star, but we were not expecting that. "

"Our group (15 people) consisted of 3 families. Their reviews (Terry, Darrel and Willem) also appear on this site. I organised the trip and was very impressed with the prompt and friendly response I received throughout the booking process. Blessing and Sheila were very easy to deal with and provided me with all the details and requests we required."

"Blessing was our guide. We were so happy to have him and Innocent(our driver) with us throughout our trip. They are knowledgeable, friendly and just great people to hang out with. "

"This was a budget tented safari. Anyone expecting luxury hotel beds and air conditioned rooms should not do this type of safari! We stayed over in tents at rest camps. The tents, beds and bedding were clean and comfortable. The washrooms were typical of campsites. They were clean and if something was amiss, the rest camp staff were quick to help. Our boys (16, 18, 22) loved every bit of this trip as much as we did. We saw Africa in all it's splendour on the 2 river cruises and the game drives. Chobe, Elephant Sands and the Okavango Delta mokoro outing were absolute highlights! Anyone that wanted to upgrade to a cabin were accommodated without a problem. I can honestly say that this was a fantastic and very well organised trip. I will travel with Africa Zim Travel and Tours any time again! "

"I recently participated in a tour by this operator. It was tented camps. The accommodation was appalling. The operator charged us 13 times the amount a "walk in" customer from the street would have paid for the same accommodation. We were paying top dollar for the most basic old tents, broken beds, thin matresses, mouse droppings, broken zips, dirty toilets, no hot water, pigeons in the roof, no towels, filthy showers, etc etc. Never again. For the same amount of money you can get much, much better. The operator is a classic rip-off of foreigners who have no idea of prices and what is available."

"We traveled in a group of 6 friends with the wonderful company of Blessing and Sheila. It was a very special, memorable time for us all. Each day was a new and often surprising experience. Our accommodation was varied and all great. There were so many highlights, Victoria Falls, Boma dinner, Sunset cruises, the saltpan overnighter under the stars, the beautiful Okavango Delta but most of all the incredible animals at Elephant Sands and Chobe. This trip was all we imagined it would be and more."

"We booked our camping safari in Chobe National Park through Blessing at Africa Zim Travel and Tours. Before going on the trip, Blessing was in contact and even visited us at our accommodation the day before we were to set off to answer questions we had. Blessing drove us to the Zimbabwe / Botswana border to meet our Chobe guide Simon (Cape Fig Safaris) and everything went smoothly. We had a great trip. I would recommend it."

"Andrew from Africa Zim Travel and Tours was knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. He was also a great driver and focused with a clean vehicle. We stayed in a variety of accommodations, had amazing animal game drives, went to a fascinating natural history museum and ate delicious meals. The price was reasonable and we had a tremendous amount of flexibility being only a couple of us on the tour. This made the experience all the more special. It was an excellent tour for the price and I would recommend them for an unforgettable journey."

"We traveled from Canada with our family including 3 teenage boys and our 76-year-old father. We also traveled with another Canadian family and their 3 boys. The experience from the beginning to end was nothing short of amazing. We booked a camping trip knowing we would be camping in tents and that our washrooms and toilets would be separate. Our tour director, Blessing, and driver, Innocent, were extremely accommodating. They upgraded the tents to a room for our father and ensured he was comfortable. As with most camping, it is a "rugged" experience. All the beds (with the exception of one night) were cots with linen on top. They were comfortable and we found no droppings of any kind. The food at the campgrounds was good and the people serving were very friendly. Above all, we saw all the animals one would hope to see on a safari, elephants, zebras, hippos, lions, crocodiles, as well as the animals and birds we had never heard of. If what you are looking for is a friendly, accommodating tour guide who is knowledgeable and willing to customize your trip, then Africa Zim is for you. The biggest thing to know if you are booking is that this is not a five-star resort tour. It is camping and that is why it was fun, a wonderful way to get to know the locals and learn about the communities."

"Why should you choose Africa Zim Travel and Tours? First, it will probably just be your group on the tour. You won't be forced to spend ten days with annoying strangers. In fact, you won't see many tourists except in Vic Falls. Second, it is altruism, it is run by Zimbabweans and your tourist dollars help a struggling economy. Third, it is the variety, city, and country, history and nature, western and African lodgings. Fourth, they are professional. These guys are pros. They know what they're doing and have worked with tourists of many nationalities. The last is the price. I did a lot of research and Africa Zim Travel and Tours was the most affordable I found. We got our money's worth and then some."

"Regarding the tour, they did a great job alternating between a travel day (4-hour drive) with a day of site seeing. It felt like we smelled the flowers and departed at the right amount of time. We stayed at two amazing places that I will remember for the rest of my life, Troutbeck Resort and Elephant's Eye Lodge. We ate dinner with a group of elephants only 100 yards away at Elephant's Eye. Some hotels were forgettable (Holiday Inn). Our tour guide Andrew was also friendly. If I visit Botswana, I will choose Africa Zim."

"This was my first safari ever. Kalahari Tours in Botswana runs the actual safari, Africa Zim Travel and Tours sets up the booking and provides transfers to and from the border. First, Africa Zim Travel & Tours. Professional e-mails and meetings with the staff. They drove me Vic Falls to the Zim / Bots border but failed to pick me up for the ride back to Vic Falls. But the driver from Kalahari was able to arrange a ride back on another tour company's van with no delay or problem as a professional courtesy. The actual safari was excellent. We saw four of the Big Five (Chobe doesn't have any rhinos) and lots and lots of other animals. Several people on our safari had been on other safaris right before this one, and they saw the most animals by far at Chobe. I can't say enough positive things about our guide Jensen. He is very knowledgeable about all the animals and very good at spotting animals in the distance and in the bush and at following tracks. He also speaks with an excellent grasp of the American idiom. Finally, one advantage of Chobe is that there are a lot of guides from different companies and they are good at sharing information about animals. The camping itself is no problem. We roughed it only in the sense that we slept on bedrolls in tents and had only 1 shower over 3 days. A two-man team set up and broke down everything, and they also cooked the meals. The food was plentiful and delicious for anyone with a Western palate."
