Day 1: Nairobi - Aberdares National Park

At 09:00, from Nairobi, you will have a 2.5-hour drive to Aberdares Country Club. You will pass through the industrial town of Thika and the intensely cultivated farms of the central Kenya. Relax at Aberdares Country Club, and lunch will be served at 13:00. At 15:00, you will be transferred to a lodge vehicle to The Ark Lodge, one of the famous lodge in the Aberdares National Park, where you will have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Aberdares National Park - Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast at The Ark Lodge, you will transferred back to Aberdares Country Club. Then, have a drive to Lake Nakuru in time for lunch at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. After lunch, you will proceed for an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park.

The park’s swamps and marshes are home to water birds including the famed pink flamingos and around 450 terrestrial bird species. The buffalos, white rhinos, zebras, giraffes, hyenas, and over 56 mammal species are in abundance. Your stay and dinner will be in a world class lodge such as the spectacular Sarova Lion Hill Lodge or you can choose other accommodation to stay at.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru National Park - Maasai Mara National Reserve

At 08:00, you will drive via the Great Rift Valley to arrive at Masai Mara in time for lunch at Mara Simba Lodge. After lunch, go for an afternoon game drive until dusk. You will have dinner and a 2-night stay at Mara Simba Lodge.

The wildlife variety in Maasai Mara National Reserve is truly overwhelming. You can spot Thomson’s gazelles, zebras, black rhinos, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, lions, foxes, jackals, impalas, and hippopotamuses in addition to the abundant bird species.

If photography is your prime interest, then an extension of your safari will mostly reward your quest for the perfect wildlife shot. So captivating is the natural beauty of the savanna, scrubs, trees, and cloud shadows not forgetting the Mara River and a myriad of seasonal rivelets some hosting the Nile crocodiles and the hippopotamuses. If you are lucky, you can spot an endangered black rhino.

Day 4: Maasai Mara National Reserve

At 06:30, have an early morning game drive in Maasai Mara National Reserve. You will then return to the lodge for breakfast and spend the rest of the morning at leisure. After having lunch at the lodge, you will proceed at 16:00 for an afternoon game drive until dusk. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Mara Simba Lodge.

Day 5: Maasai Mara National Reserve - Nairobi

At 06:30, you may take the opportunity to fly over Maasai Mara National Reserve in a hot air balloon provided at an extra cost. The balloon package includes a champagne breakfast in the wild. If you can spare the money, viewing abundant game afloat a balloon is an unforgettable experience. After breakfast, you will return to Nairobi and arrive in the afternoon.

Aberdares National Park

Aberdares National Park is situated in the central highlands of central Kenya. The 767-square kilometer park cuts through valleys and deeply forested habitat and slopes in the western region. The black rhino is among the wildlife to be spotted in the park together with elephants, Sykes monkeys, colobus monkeys, leopards, baboons, and occasionally the bongo antelopes (found in the bamboo forest), and lions.

The eland and serval cats are to be found higher up in the moorland. Wildlife and bird viewing is not all the park offers. Picnicking while bird viewing the over 250 species of birds including the eagles, plovers, and the Jackson’s Francolin is a must do. Trout fishing in the park rivers and waterfalls is available. Camping together with walking are ample activities to compound the park experience.

Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park is situated in the Rift Valley Region of Kenya and comprises of the blue-green Lake Nakuru, bushy grasslands and yellow acacia woodlands, as well as the Great Rift Valley Escarpments hills and ridges. The wildlife variety in Maasai Mara National Reserve is truly overwhelming.

You can spot Thomson’s gazelles, zebras, black rhinos, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, lions, foxes, jackals, impalas, and hippopotamuses in addition to the abundant bird species.

Special campsites namely Reedbuck, Nyuki, Nyati, Rhino, Soysambu, Chui, and Naishi are available for you if you wish to camp during your safari. Public Campsites at Bacpakers and Makalia equally provide additional camping options.

Maasai Mara National Reserve

Maasai Mara National Reserve is Africa’s greatest wildlife and the world’s most famous safari destination, located in Kenya. Maasai Mara National Reserve is famous for the great wildebeest migration (the 8th wonder of the world), roaming lions, and, of course, the hospitable Maasai people.

The 1,510-square kilometer reserve has a habitat ranging from riverine forests to grasslands doted with acacia tree famed for being leopard resting points. Maasai Mara National Reserve is a part of the ecosystem that includes the equally famous Serengeti of Tanzania. The wildlife variety is truly overwhelming: Thomson's gazelles, zebras, black rhinos, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, lions, foxes, jackals, impalas, and hippopotamuses in addition to the abundant bird species.

The 8th wonder of the world occurs annually in Maasai Mara National Reserve. The annual migration of millions of wildebeest, Thomson's gazelles, and zebras from the Tanzanian Serengeti in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the Savannah such as lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.
