This safari will take place in Mana Pools National Park, Zimbabwe. Mana Pools is the rugged and beautiful golden child of the Zambezi Valley. It is home to a wonderful mix of grassy floodplains, woodlands, and riverine forest. Forming the park’s northern border is the broad Zambezi River. Its backdrop is the mountains of the Rift Valley Escarpment across the waters in the neighboring Zambia.
The name ‘Mana’ means four in the local Shona language and refers to the four large pools situated in the interior of the park. This abundance of water acts as a magnet for all manner of wildlife such as elephants, buffalos, and waterbuck grazes on the wide green floodplains. Predators such as lions, leopards, and wild dogs are often seen too. The rivers and pools are home to large populations of hippos and crocodiles. The bird watching is superb, with the highlights including fish eagles, water fowls, and colorful clouds of carmine bee-eaters.
You will be served 3 lunches and 1 breakfast during the safari. Africa Joy Tours provides free bottled water at all camps and during all wildlife-viewing drives.
