You will be taken to Shamwari Game Reserve and then check into the deluxe Bayethe Lodge. Shamwari is associated with major conservation institutions that promote awareness. There are 3 facilities available at this reserve, such as Ian Player Rhino Awareness Center, Born Free Big Cat Sanctuary, and Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. You may get a firsthand encounter with passionate on-site vets who care for injured and abandoned animals, which are then released back to the wild. After you feel refreshed, you’ll get revitalized for your first afternoon game drive when the predators are most active.

Day 2

Today, you will spend the day discovering the reserve on both early morning and early evening game drives in open safari vehicles. After that, you can enjoy sundowners by the pool or visit the conservation centers.

Day 3

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your 2-hour flight to the fabulous Cape Town. There, you will then be transferred to the Commodore Hotel for three glorious nights overlooking Victoria and Alfred Waterfront with views of Table Mountain.

Day 4

Your comprehensive city orientation tour will start with a trip up the iconic Table Mountain. The state of the art cable car rotates 360 degrees on its way to the top. At the summit are short walks to enjoy magnificent vistas. Later, you will head to the Signal Hill for great views of Sea Point and Robben Island. Other highlights will include a brief tour of the Malay Quarter, city center, Company Gardens, Castle of Good Hope, and more. In the evening, you can be free to revel in Cape Town’s nightlife.

Day 6

You will be collected for a 2-hour scenic drive along the rugged coast with mountains rising from the sapphire sea, coves, valleys, and seaside villages. Whales will wallow in these waters. You will watch pods of huge whales breaching right in front of you here. You will then arrive at Grootbos Private Nature Reserve. You’ll see unparalleled floral diversity, rare fynbos, birdlife, milkwood forests, and mountain slopes overlooking the whale watching mecca of Walker Bay. This is a whale sanctuary where whales come to mate. You’ll have the chance to get close to these on a boat tour.

Day 7

There will be many activities here included in your stay such as horseback rides, nature walks, coastal hikes, cave tours, beach picnics, community tours, and 4x4 floral safari. In September, the fields here will burst with colorful wild flowers.

Day 8

You will enjoy the activities at Grootbos and then check out. In the afternoon, you will drive an hour to the whale capital town of Hermanus. There will be hundreds of whales coming here to breed. Females and calves swim in clear beaches as males put on spectacular displays. 40% are southern right whales, but you can also see humpback, bryde's, and killer whales. You will see them breach, blow, and belly flop.

The shallow waters will provide a safe nursery for the calves as well as great white sharks, bottlenose dolphins, and fur seals. You will enjoy the annual Whale Festival. There’ will be music, craft stalls, art, food, and the Whale Crier who will announce whale sightings near shore. After that, you will depart from Hemanus on a beautiful drive back to Cape Town International Airport (CPT) where you will bid this land of diversity farewell.
