Come and share memories with the Adventure Vacation Safaris team in this gorilla habituation safari holiday in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This park is home to more than half of the world's remaining rare mountain gorilla population. Planted high on a ridge looking towards the volcanoes of the Virunga Mountains, this primordial, mysterious, and impenetrable forest with the coolest breeze is a jungle worth traversing in search of these majestic mountain creatures.
This boutique hotel, set in a former presidential residence, is just 10 minutes from Entebbe International Airport (EBB). Catering to a small number of guests at any one time, this hotel offers high-level and personalized service, quality food, a relaxing swimming pool, and a comfortable sleep. Whether your visit to Entebbe is for business or pleasure, you’ll feel at home in this place.
The newly-built safari rooms in the garden open the door to exotic plants and bird life. If you are into bird watching, you won't need to go much further than the hotel's gardens where you can see over 40 species of birds on some mornings. On the other hand, the lake-view rooms in the main house enjoy superb sights of the sunsets over Lake Victoria. Hand-built beds mean that each room has the versatility to be requested as either a single, double, or twin-share occupancy.
The hotel's seven en-suite rooms share the same quality amenities, but each has a unique design. Spacious and airy, they include everything you need for a stress-free stay. Super king-sized beds with firm, quality mattresses provide pleasant rest. Custom-designed mosquito nets hang in a non-intrusive style around the bed area, keeping you well protected as you sleep. A desk, chair, and fast Wi-Fi connection are all great for business travelers, or for keeping in touch back home.
Formerly known as Nkuringo Gorilla Camp, this award-winning gorilla lodge provides affordable accommodation and walking safari services in Southwestern Uganda. It shares the rain forest tranquility and warm hospitality that Ugandans are known for. The eco-friendly and romantic lodge is located on the Nteko Ridge, overlooking a beautiful swath of the world-renowned Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park - home to the world’s most sought-after animal, the mountain gorilla.
The ridge provides a superb vantage across the Kashasha river valley to the forested hill known as Nkuringo, and the surrounding plethora of trees of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This forest is home to the Nkuringo group of mountain gorillas (Nkuringo gorilla family) and Rushaga gorilla groups, and also where the lodge provides a prime access point to start amazing gorilla trekking activities.
The lodge also has panoramic views of the Virunga Mountains' majestic chain of volcanoes, and across the escarpment into the Albertine Rift valley within the Democratic Republic of the Congo. A few, lucky visitors will experience observing the clouds envelop the forested valley below the lodge, and be party to views of the north as far as the glaciers on the Rwenzori peaks some 160 kilometers away.
Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge's strategic location, coupled with excellent cuisine and service and intimate character, makes it the most ideal Bwindi accommodation for adventure lovers. In January 2010, visitors where thrilled to witness not one but two active volcanoes in the Democratic Republic of the Congo from the lodge. Both Mount Nyiragongo and the Nyamuragira volcano continue to light up the night sky for intrepid travelers on clear evenings.
And with an ever-increasing number of returning guests and great recommendations and reviews, Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge has developed from a low-budget camp to a full-fledged, mid-range lodge that is also preferred by high-end clientele due in part to its eco-friendly facilities and service. The lodge boasts of green credentials, being one of the only two venues in the entire country that operate with a carbon neutral footprint.
The Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge features four intimately hand-crafted en-suite cottages that each have a fireplace, six en-suite Virunga terrace rooms, and a family cottage that sleeps up to five persons. All room types have a safety deposit box, private terrace or patio, extra bed and baby cots, complimentary water, and a personal butler for the whole duration of your stay. Daily housekeeping, daily turn-down, tea and coffee delivery, and laundry services are also available.
