Kibale forest National Park has over 1,450 chimpanzees representing Uganda’s largest population of these endangered primates and man’s closest relatives, with the chimpanzees sharing 97% DNA composition with us, humans. The park has a concentration of other primates with reports of over 13 other types including the mangabey monkey.

On this safari, you will stay at Karibu Guest House and Kibale Forest Camp.
The hotel is situated on the edges of the raised piece of land of mighty Lake Victoria which is only 10 minutes drive from Entebbe International Airport (EBB).The hotel has a variety of dishes on the menu that changes with the season and incorporates readily available fresh ingredients prepared with a Mediterranean influence and some traditional favorites.
The camp, which is located in a patch of evergreen forest just outside the southern part of the park and borders the Magombe swamp, is famous for the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a mere 10 minutes drive to Kanyanchu Visitor Center which is where your chimp track will start. You will capture the thrill of a howling black and white colobus or listen to the wood owl calling his partner in the comfort of your tent.
You will enjoy forest smells and sounds, spot primates swinging through the trees, and observe rare birds and beautiful butterflies fluttering around. Have a break from your daily concrete jungle life and experience the real jungle.
You will arrive at the Entebbe International Airport (EBB) where you will meet your guide. You will be transferred to Karibu Guest House Entebbe for an overnight stay.
You will be transferred to the primate capital of the world, Kibale forest National Park, for your primates tracking experience. You will travel via Kampala passing beautiful hills, landscape, and the local people along the road. You will have a stopover for your lunch at Fort Portal town before proceeding to check in at the Kibale Forest Camp.
You will have an evening crater lakes walk where you will discover the three beautiful crater lakes that provide beautiful scenery. Your walking guide will tell you interesting stories about the communities around the area. Later in the evening, you will have dinner and an overnight stay at Kibale Forest Camp on a full board basis.
You will have an early morning breakfast at the lodge and meet your guide who will be ready to transfer you to the tourist briefing area at Kanyanchu where you will be briefed on the chimpanzee tracking process. You'll later head into the forest in search for chimps. Along the way, you are more likely to meet other different animal and bird species.
In the afternoon, you will continue to Tinka’s homestead where you will be served an African lunch cuisine before proceeding for an evening swamp walk at the Wetlands in Bigodi sanctuary. You are most likely to encounter different bird species that may include the rare papyrus Gonolek. Other species may also be seen there. You will return for dinner and an overnight stay at Kibale Forest Camp on a full board basis
You will travel back to Kampala after your breakfast. As soon as you arrive in Kampala, your guide will drive you to Entebbe International Airport (EBB) for your international flight.
This safari will take place at Kibale Forest National Park and Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary in Uganda. Kibale Forest National Park is shared among the districts of Kabarole and Kamwenge, approximately 320 kilometers, by road, west of Kampala.
Daily meals and soft drinks are included in the price. A number of dishes may be served depending on the lodge menu and availability of recipes and ingredients. These may include vegetarian and vegan dishes, organic food, raw food, pescatarian, regular food, fruits, and other food.
