Affordable Safari Kenya

This is one of the most common safari that covers Masai Mara, Nakuru, and Amboseli through Naivasha for an optional boat ride with a chance of spotting several bird species and hippos. This is the option of having a group tour that leaves Nairobi every day at 8:30 a.m. and comes back to Nairobi after the trip by 3:00 p.m. There will be a maximum of 8 persons in the car who enjoy the same game drive through. On a budget, you will enjoy accommodation on a self-contained tented camp with all the basic facilities.

This is a budget safari and will stay in self-contained budget camps at the Mara and Amboseli and a budget hotel in Nakuru.

Masai Mara: Miti Mingi Eco Camp (or similar)

The camp is situated within the Masai Mara eco-system and on the banks of Ololaimutia River which is a watering point for most of the wild animals, especially elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, etc. This small and exclusive campsite comprises 25 tents.

The tents are furnished with all the amenities required by the modern traveler. Decorated in calming safari tones, natural woods, wrought iron, and crisp cotton, each tent has been meticulously planned to maximize comfort. All tents have four-poster beds and mosquito nets, en-suite with shower, WC, and flush toilets, hot and cold running water, and electricity with a voltage of 240 volts.

At the camp, lighting is provided by a diesel-run generator which runs from 6:30 p.m. in the evening up to 10:00 p.m. It is in the process of installing power lighting to guarantee continuity in lighting. Sockets are provided in all tents for charging digital cameras and mobile phones.

Amboseli National Park: Kimana camp

Kimana tents are set among nature, offering a majestic view of two peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro - the ice-capped Kibo and Mawenzi. Situated just outside the Amboseli National Park, the campsite offers comfortable tents and lodges, with a restaurant, a bar, and amazing natural surroundings. The camp offers beds, bedding, hot showers, electricity, and mosquito nets.

Pre-safari day

Upon arrival, you will be picked from Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) and transferred to your hotel. Accommodation is not included.

Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara

Morning pick up from the hotel after breakfast, after a briefing, you will leave Nairobi for Masai Mara Game Reserve which is five to six hours' drive / 265 kilometers. You will drive through the Great Rift Valley escarpment have a brief stopover for the beautiful scenery and some photos for memories.

Arrive in time for lunch, have lunch, relax a bit and get ready for the first game drive in search of the lions, elephants, leopards, cheetah, buffaloes, and other plains game. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Miti Mingi Eco Camp or similar.

Day 2: Masai Mara full day

After breakfast, leave with picnic lunch for a full day spent game viewing across the rich, tree-studded grasslands and rolling hills.

It’s on this day that you drive up to Mara River where the great migration takes place and if very lucky, you will be able to witness the migration. All meals and overnight will be at Miti Mingi Eco Camp or similar.

Day 3: Maasai Mara - Nakuru

Early morning pre-breakfast game drive. Back to the camp and after breakfast check out and depart the Mara region for Nakuru National Park, lunch en route, with scenic views of Mt. Longonot and Lake Naivasha from a distance on the main highway. Dinner and overnight at the budget hotel in Nakuru: Hotel Citymax Nakuru or similar.

Day 4: Nakuru - Amboseli

After breakfast, proceed on a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. Drive to Amboseli national park. Dinner and overnight at Kimana Tented Camp.

Day 5: Amboseli full day

A full day spent game viewing across the rich, tree-studded grasslands and rolling hills. All meals and overnight will be at Kimana Tented Camp.

Day 6: Amboseli - Nairobi

Early morning pre-breakfast game drive, come back for breakfast. After breakfast check out and leave Amboseli for Nairobi. Arrive in Nairobi later in the afternoon. You will be dropped at a Nairobi hotel for an overnight or at the airport to take your flight back home.


Masai Mara

Maasai Mara (Masai Mara) is situated in south-west Kenya and is one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves. Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing.

The famous Mara is renowned for its great herds of plains game, black-maned lions, leopard, and cheetah but also contains numerous elephants and virtually every type of wildlife to be found in Kenya.

Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru Park is known for its prolific birdlife including flamingos. The park contains a sanctuary for the conservation of the white rhino while species like Cape buffalo and waterbuck can be seen near the shoreline.

Amboseli National Park

The famous Amboseli is renowned for its great herds of plains game, black-manned lions, leopard, and cheetah but also contains numerous elephants and virtually every type of wildlife to be found in Kenya.
