This safari in Kruger National Park is a snapshot of the wildlife highlights of South Africa. Our Lodge at the Kruger is situated in the Marloth Park on the doorstep of the Kruger at Crocodile Bridge and the border to Mozambique. Homebase Kruger is a very simple and rustic lodge without all the frills and with great atmosphere with the resident Kudu and Warthog at the Boma area.

Homebase Kruger Lodge

Homebase Kruger Lodge is an experience rather than a destination – it promises to build you a unique bushveld encounter. Situated in the Marloth Park Mpumalanga, the lodge is within a 10-minute drive from Kruger National Park and other private big five game reserves, and is also the gateway to many scenic wonders of the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa.

The lodge's communal areas are all centered around the large verandah from where you can view the animals. A well equipped communal kitchen gives you the opportunity to cook your own meals or you are welcome to order food from the standard menu.

They have knowledgeable staff who can advise you on other activities in the area, as well as internet connection and a laundry service.

Program

Day 1: Johannesburg - Kruger National Park

You will depart Johannesburg at 12:00 Midday from O R Tambo International Airport on a shuttle bus and make your way through the Lowveld to the Kruger National Park. A quick stop on route (on your account) will be enjoyed before continuing to our lodge on the edge of the Kruger in the private Marloth Park.

The route showcases some of South Africa’s finest Lowveld farmlands before arriving at the lodge near the Kruger National Park in the late afternoon and in time to enjoy a drink before dinner.

Day 2: Kruger National Park

A full day game drive is on the menu for the day in an open 4 x 4 game drive vehicle with a local guide. The southern parts of the Kruger is rich with Wildlife and offers a real opportunity for excellent game viewing to sight the Big Five as well as hundreds of antelope and bird species. It is not guaranteed to sight all the Big Five such as the elusive leopard during the day. You will make your way on various routes in the Kruger throughout the day in the effort to tick off most of the wildlife that Kruger has to offer.

Lunch is on your own account at one of the rest camps.

Day 3: Kruger National Park - Johannesburg

After an early morning breakfast, we will depart and set off to Johannesburg from the Lodge at 6 am making our way back to Johannesburg and arriving at OR Tambo Airport by 12:00 Midday.

Location

The Kruger National Park covers 19,500 square kilometers which is the second largest game park in Africa and the largest in South Africa. The Kruger National Park spans 360 kilometers from north to south and 65 kilometers from west to east. The park holds the Big Five which is a dream come true to any avid game watcher and wildlife enthusiast. For the avid birdwatchers, this can be simply described as pure heaven.

You will be provided with dinner on the first day, breakfast and dinner on the second day, and breakfast on the final day of the safari. Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
