Accommodation
The accommodation as per the itinerary is at Miti Mingi Eco Camp where you will be spending the two nights. The accommodation is budget can be upgraded to a more comfortable tented camps or safari lodge at an extra cost. Miti Mingi Eco Camp is situated within the Masai Mara ecosystem and on the banks of the Oloolaimutia River, which is a watering point for most wild animals, especially elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes. The camp is small and exclusive, comprising 25 tents.
The tents are furnished with the understated required by the modern traveler. Decorated in calming safari tones, natural wood, wrought iron, and crisp cotton, each tent has been meticulously planned to maximize comfort. All tents have the following facilities: four poster beds and mosquito nets, en-suite with shower, toilets, and hot and cold running water. The lawn has a natural shed that provides natural fresh air.
It has comfortable natural wooden benches for discussions, reading, eating, and drinking. You can also take a walk around the tents. Under the trees, there is a comfortable natural African grass that can also offer a resting ground with very oxygenated air. There is plenty of food and drinks at the camp. Cooks are experienced in all kinds of food, including African dishes.
Program
Day 1: Nairobi - Maasai Mara
The trip starts with a pick-up either from the airport or Nairobi Hotel by Absolute Holiday Safaris crew then be transferred to the office where you will meet the guide and be introduced to other group members. Start the Holiday between 8:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. with a first stopover at the viewpoint to see the Great Rift Valley Escarpment wall. Descend the escarpment and travel on it to Narok Town where you will have an Early Lunch. Afternoon drive to great Maasai Mara game reserve to reach Miti Mingi Eco Camp, Check in followed by evening game drive till sunset. Back to the camp where dinner and overnight will be served.
Day 2: Maasai Mara full-day game viewing
The day starts with a full breakfast at the camp and then with a picnic lunch. You will leave the camp before 8:00 a.m. for an eight-hour game viewing. Make sure your cameras are fully charged and you have enough water. They will have a great day with extensive game drive till you reach Mara River which is the border between Maasai Mara and Serengeti. It is also the point of the great migration crossing point.
If its migration time is from July to October, you will be among those who will witness the crossing, otherwise, you will see the crocodiles and hippos. Break for picnic lunch and continue with the game drive till 5:00 p.m. After long hours in the park, you will have two hours of optional activities either visit Maasai village, take a nature walk, or relax at the camp. Later dinner and overnight at Miti Mingi Eco Camp.
Day 3: Maasai Mara - Nairobi
By 6:00 a.m., have a cup of tea/coffee then depart for the morning game drive, see the sunrise, and if lucky, you will be able to see the wildcats when they are active. Normally the lions hunt at dawn and you may be lucky to take a great video. Between 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. leave the park for a full breakfast, check out and drive back to Nairobi. Upon arrival drop off at your place or be transferred directly to the airport to catch your flight to another destination.
